User Request for Applications / Photography Software?
« on: February 02, 2005, 10:20:15 am »
Yea, I forgot to mention that one.  I have it and it is nearly a perfect program, however it lacks the specific functionality that I mentioned.  It needs one more tab to do everything a photographer needs.  I have tried contacting the developer through sourceforge, but he hasn't gotten back to me.  I do have the source files for this program though, and I may start puttering with it.  There will be a learning curve, but I am sure I can work it out eventially.

Thanks

User Request for Applications / Photography Software?

Hello,

I found a piece of freeware for the PPC called Expose which can be found   Here .  Basically it is a simple program that allows the user to calculate the exposure (f-stop, shutter speed) for folks who use manual photography techniques.  All the numbers generated are from commonly available tables and such.

Is there anything like this out there for the Z?

It seems like this would be a fairly easy process to do myself with a database.  All it is is selecting film speed which adjusts a sliding scale of light values, and then plug the appropriate light value and the f-stop (or shutter speed) and the program will display the other value from a grid.  Simple, but I don't have any DB experience.

While I am on the topic, is there any way to decompile a ppc program and port it to the Z (java or other)?

Thanks

Software / Strange Behaviour Of Hancom Sheet

Hi,

Did anyone notice this weird problem in Hancom Sheet v1.6.0 (C700 with Cacko v1.22) ?
I've created an excel document with 3 cells :
one with a number, one with function NOW() and another which is the sum of the two others (Example : NOW()+A1).
The results are as expected.

But, when i close and then reopen this document, the cell which contains the sum is filled with "#0PRND".
I have to select "Tools/Recalculate" to get correct result.
What means "#0PRND" ?

I've never seen this problem with Hancom Sheet v1.5.0, tkcrom and SL5500.

Thanks for your help

I get this when the input variables are wrong.  For example if I run a formula based on numbers from a different column and I try to insert a letter instead, I get the same message.  Check your formula and check your data.

Good luck.

Yeah, would have been nice if it worked.  I gave one to my brother for his digital camera and it worked fine.  I gave up and exchanged mine a couple days ago for  Return of The King:EE.  I know deals are popping up all the time for these things, but it would have been nice to buy something local with no rebate.

That is what I suspected, but I'll keep hoping for a solution.

(Repost, does anyone read the 5x00 hardware forum anymore?)

Hi,

I've got a 5600 pdxa250 runnning the most recient qtopia with the special kernal. I am trying to get a "generic" 128mb SD card to work on my Z and I am unable to transfer any files onto this card. I've tried moving from my CF card and from the cradle with no luck. The brand is Impact which I have never seen before, but Walmart started carrying them for black friday. I exchanged the original card for a new one and I am still getting the same problem. I have a 32mb Lexar SD card which works fine. These are the error messages:

On my PC:

Please review with the "Error check" function on your Zaurus.
When I run dmesg on my Z:

select error
sd flush : ERROR adr = 51200 (0xc800) , len = 5
12 (0x200)
[sd]-R 14000 0200 ERROR!
pxa_sd_wait response: responce time out (cmd=07
MMC_STAT=0x2142)
sd_write_single(196609) : select error
this repeats many times and the last line is:

NETDEV WATCHDOG: usbd0: transmit timed out
Is there anything I can do about this problem? ...drivers...settings...format..etc?

Also, on the first card I tried, I formated a couple times using FAT16 and ext2 and I tried formating with a digital camera.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help,
Joeboo

General Discussion / The Z as a PIC Programmer / Oscilloscope

Ever considered using LabVIEW (www.ni.com)?  It lets you create a virtual instrument for pretty much anything you can come up with.  They have versions for windows, linux, mac, sun, and PPC/Palm.  Perhaps someone could port this thing?  I'd love to see it done, we use it at work, and I want a reason for my company to buy me a work Z

5x00 Hardware / Small touchscreen "issue" on an SL-5600

I had to learn to keep other parts of my hand from brushing the screen when I used the stylus... big hands/small stylus

This caused the touch point to jump... drove me crazy until I figured it out!

Perhaps this is happening to you?

Software / How to get Kismet to work on SL-5600 with Sharp Rom
« on: May 04, 2004, 07:10:20 am »
Actually, I was talking about the cannot connect to the server message.  I guess I just skimmed the posts about no Icon.

I think I have it working now.  At least the error message doesn\'t pop up.  I don\'t have WiFi at home yet to test it, but I am going wardriving during lunch today to see what pops up.

Does kismet qt say anyting once it is running properly to let you know its scanning?  The LCD on the card flashes, but the program is idle.  (not stopped or locked up, just idle)

Thanks

(ps.  on the sourceforge page for this program there is a message which describes running \'kismet_monitor\', \'kismet_hopper\', and \'kismet_server\' from terminal before you start kismet qt.  Is this necessary?  or is this a fix for a different problem.)

Same prob here.

Is kismet-qt a stand-alone program or is it a UI shell for the console version of kismet?  Do I need to install anything besides the kismet-qt 2.0.0 ipk?

(ding..ding..ding)  We Have A Winner.    It finally worked.  Thanks for the help.  Is this in the FAQ? If it isn\'t it needs to be.  I was using the \'u\' version of the ROM, not the \'c\' version that I needed.  Thanks

Still no luck for me yet...

Were you able to install the kernel?

I think my problem may be the card, it an old sandisk card that we use in a 6 year old digital camera at work.  When I can afford it, I will probably pick up a new SD card and try it from there.

5x00 General discussions / Special kernel install woes...
« on: April 07, 2004, 10:24:19 pm »
Help,
I\'m trying to install the special kernel into my 5600 and I can\'t get it to work.  The rom updated to 1.32 fine using the PC software.  I managed to rogue a 20mb sandisk CF card from work to install the kernel update, but when I follow the instructions here (turn off, remove battery cover, reset, ok/cancel button, update, cf, etc...) I get the sharp screen, and at the bottom it says modprobe: can\'t locate devinfo then screen says --Sharp Updater-- and something about not finding or being able to create some directories (tmp/something/updater.sh etc.)

The card has two files: updater.sh from the ROM upgrade, and zImage.bin which I renamed from this site.  The Documents and QtPalmtop folders which are loaded automatically are there as well.

I\'ve tried formated the card in the Z, and formating it using windows and a card reader at work.  Niether made any difference.

What am I doing wrong?  This card works fine for moving and using files, but could there be something wrong with it?

thanks
