Sharp ROMs / Cacko Security Hole
« on: November 20, 2008, 06:14:20 pm »
fixed it:

- installed smbpasswd - [smbpasswd_0.1-1_arm.ipk]  from meanie's feed

- Once you installed smbpasswd, you will need to do the following to get it working:
# su
# ln -s /usr/local/samba/lib/codepages /usr/lib/samba/codepages
# rm /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf
# ln -s /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf /usr/lib/samba/smb.conf
# ln -s /usr/local/samba/private/smbpasswd /etc/smbpasswd

- then create user zaurus with password of your choice
sudo smbpasswd -a zaurus a

- to connect now: smb://zaurus  then user:zaurus and your password

Sharp ROMs / Cacko Security Hole
« on: November 13, 2008, 12:39:38 am »
I have my Zaurus running Cacko 1.23 with my Mac Book connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
On my Mac Book in Shared I see Zaurus as a PC Server and I can browse and change  the content of the SD card and HDD on it freely without any password.
I knew about this hole before, just didnt know it is so easy to see it on Mac.

Does anybody know how to close this hole?

Have you found a solution?

Accessories / Apple Wireless Keyboard With Cacko
« on: March 09, 2008, 05:00:23 pm »
Did anyone have a success with Apple Wireless Keyboard on Cacko?

It gets connected with BlueZ but the keymap is wrong.
I tried to use different versions of hidp.o file in bluetooth module /lib/modules.rom/2.40.20/kernel/net/bluetooth/hidp/ with no sucess.

Supposedly the keyboard should work with newer linux kernels > 2.62 and BlueZ packages that use hidp.ko module.

Any help would be appreciated

SDHC cards are reported to work on Ångström and with new kernels,
so there is no problem with the hardware whatsoever.

Have the same problem on my zaurus C1000 with cacko 1.23

-Fn key switches the applications and I would like it to be as Fn key on zaurus keyboard
-key repeat doesnt work
-I want to type russian as well, but it seems that only latin is supported (I can type russian/english on zaurus keyboard)

For the "page down", "page up" use ctrl up and down.

Sorry if this is already posted somewhere.  I couldn't find it.  I just got a Targus keyboard.  Does anyone have any instructions for mapping the keyboard?  I would like to have a "page down", "page up", "menu bar" access.  Also, can't seem to work the "Fn" key; it always switches to appmenu.
