Ok. Mickeyl words. It is a bug and and he must put an upgraded version of it in the feed.

I posted detailed comments about this bug in email foums oe@ and openzaurus-users@. In short: It's a bug and you can't do anything about it until I find time and motivation to put an upgraded version into the upgrades feed.

It is the patch that insert GRSecurity and Preemption into the 2.4 kernel. Also it backports a list of performance patches and features from 2.6.
Have a look here: http://www.plumlocosoft.com/kernel/
It\'s a very good patchset and I\'m using it since Kernel 2.4.22.

Ok, here it goes my configuration:
- USB modules loaded by hand:
modprobe ehci-hcd
modprobe usb-storage
modprobe uhci

- /etc/hotplug/blacklist
# uhci ... usb-uhci handles the same pci class
usb-uhci

# tulip ... de4x5, xircom_tulip_cb, dmfe (...) handle same devices
de4x5
# At least 2.4.3 and later xircom_tulip doesn\'t have that conflict
# xircom_tulip_cb
dmfe
# Zaurus Problem
CDCEther

- My ifcfg-usb0 (/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts) for autoconfiguration:
DEVICE=usb0
ONBOOT=no
IPADDR=192.168.129.1
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
NETWORK=192.168.129.0
BROADCAST=192.168.200.255
NAME=ZAURUS

- My kernel is 2.4.25 with lck1 pathces applied. Change the settings specific to your arch. My .config for it is atached to this message.

I hope this can help you.

The /etc/hotplug/blacklist works just fine.
I have a RedHat 9.0 box, using kernel 2.4.25 with lck1 patches.
Create a /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifup-usb0 to make it able to startup when you put your zarurs on the cradle.
Make sure all usb modules are starting up. I own a USB 2.0 VIA PCI card, and without modprobe usb-ehci (?) and modprobe usb-storage (?) the usb card doesn\'t  work.
The messages you are getting appeared on my box too, modprobe \"modules\" and blacklist solved the problem.

- I don\'t know the modules now, becouse I am very far from my box, but if you want, I can send you my kernel configuration, /etc/rc.d/rc.local with all modules and my blacklist file too.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / OZ 3.3.6pre1 Suspend Problem on SL5500
« on: March 08, 2004, 09:07:13 am »
Ok. I have not solved the problem, but i have a dirty workaround.

The problem is not SD, but my Wireless Card. If I eject it (with cardmon or simply unpluggin the card), suspend works without any problems.
Anyway, hotplug is the one from OZ 3.2, so I don\'t know if the OZ 3.3.6 hotplug has the same efect.

I have unppluged my wi-fi card to play some GB roms in my CF card and suspended Z. When I came back, touchscreen was working again. So i tested the wi-fi card.

Maybe next weekend I try to modify suspend scripts (?) to eject the card automatically, so I won\'t have to do this by hand every time.
Any coments? Any ideas?

Thanks again for your atention.

6000 - Tosa / SL-6000 Available for Import
« on: March 04, 2004, 02:17:18 pm »
God, this is totally insane.
For me, here in Brazil, this thing will arrive for more then $2000.00, with all the tax we have to pay here for imported devices.
Sorry, I\'m just mad.
It\'s a pitty that i have to wait much more then all the rest of the world and pay more then the double of the real price. That\'s why here we have to get all tech stuff from illegal importers.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / problem with SD in 3.3.6pre1
« on: March 04, 2004, 08:04:00 am »
I have posted a thread some days ago with a similar problem, no solved yet.
Have a look http://www.zaurususergroup.com/index.php?n...iewtopic&t=2146

Maybe you must downgrade hotplug to the one from OZ 3.2, or try a hard reset. Maybe will work for you.

I can\'t help you with this as I only have an MMC card.

Have you searched the mailing list?

Witch mailing list?
I have searched google a lot, and also here at ZUG.
I couldn\'t find any mail list at OZ site.
Can you point me to them?

I\'m thinking about geting the OE build system and sources to learn more about the system and try to fix this thing.
If there is any source of info on how the suspend work and how it integrates with the SD/MMC module it would be usefull to.
I\'m not a developer, but have some basic knowlege on C and some shell and perl scripts for sysadmin and customization. I will try to find a way out.

If you find or recive any info, please let me know.

Thanks

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / OZ 3.3.6pre1 Suspend Problem on SL5500
« on: March 03, 2004, 08:09:12 am »
Before posting I did a search too without sucess.
I have tried a hard reset, but didn\'t work.

Just now, i have unppluged my SD card and rebooted, it just worked. The touchscreen is working again.

I own a SanDisk 256MB SD card formated with ext2 (1 partition only) and it works just fine. Maybe there is some issue with SD modules or kernel or even again with hotplug (insert and unpplug cards is working very fine),

Review the tests I did:
- No touchscreen after a suspend
- Changed hotplug to the one from OZ 3.2 - no touchscreen
- Hard Reset - no touchscreen
- Boot without SD, then suspend - Touchscreen working
- Boot with SD, then suspend without it - Touchscreen not working
- Boot without SD, then insert it and suspend - Touchscreen not working
- Boot without SD, then insert it, play some games, then remove it using cardmon - Touchscreen working.
- Boot with SD, then try to remove it using cardmon: SD/MMC can\'t be removed!, then remove it from slot and suspend - Touchscreen not working

It seems that the problem is related to SD.
Any ideas?

Have you removed the current one and installed the hotplug ipk from OZ3.2 stable?

Si

Yes. I did installed hotplug_2002_08_26-8_arm.ipk in place of the original hotplug from 3.3.6.
Touchscreen simple don\'t work after waking from a suspend.

If you, or anyone here give me some tips I can try to solve the problem by my self, but I really don\'t know how this thing work and how suspend is related to the LCD touchscreen.

It is just like to lose you mouse after suspending your notebook and having to reboot it. Maybe there is a module to reload or a service to restart? Sorry, but I really don\'t know. I\'m just speculating here.

Nobody have ever seen this problem before?

Sorry for my english, I\'m not very good on it.

Thanks again.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / OZ 3.3.6pre1 Suspend Problem on SL5500

Hi all.
I\'m a SL-5500 user, and i\'m using oz 3.3.6pre1 since the release.
I realy love OZ, but this problem is just anoying me.
When I came back from a suspend, the touchscreen is not working. I can navigate using the buttons, but the touchscreen is dead. Just a reboot solve the problem.
Any tips here?

Thanks for the help.
