5x00 General discussions / Can\'t Sync SL5500 and Qtopia Desktop Calendar Time Zones

I\'m a brand new owner of an SL5500 running ROM 2.38 and running Qtopia Desktop 1.7 under Win XP Pro. Both Qtopia DT and the 5500 are set with New York as the default time zone. If I create an event in the 5500 calendar and sync with the Qt DT the start times sync correctly. If I create the event in Qt DT and sync with the 5500 the start time shown in the 5500 is 5 hours earlier. The only way I\'ve found to correct this is to enter the time zone in the Qt DT New Event dialog every time I create an event. This seems cumbersome and unneccessary if the Qt DT already has been set up for a specific time zone. Is there any way to set a default time zone for all events created in the Qt DT Calendar?

Also, whenever I make an adjustment to settings in Qt DT and then click OK, the app seems to be trying to retrieve or send something from or to  somewhere and then reports a failure of some sort in the status bar. It happens too quickly to read exactly what the messages are saying. Anyone familiar with this? What\'s it trying to do.

I made exactly the same purchase (I\'m assuming you purchased from TigerDirect). I have some additional questions. I\'m running Win XP Pro. When I installed the Qtopia software that came with SL5500, XP gave me a \"Not Certified\" warning but it seems to be working fine. However, I\'d like to update where possible to software that\'s \"officially\" compatible with XP hence the following questions. There\'s 2 3.13 downloads available here for windows. One looks like the full ROM and the other seems to indicate it\'s a win update. Which do I need or do I need to install  3.13 and then the win update. Also, I just downloaded Qtopia Desktop 1.7 from Trolltech\'s site. I\'m assuming this is the latest. I\'m using the USB connection to my PC. Is there a USB update that I need or would it be included in Qtopia 1.7?
