Dunno about xmms or omp2, I don't use them.
Remove opie-wirelessapplet if it is installed and see if it helps
with your resume problems

Works perfectly now,  I am amazed how much faster is then your S2 release.

I'm missing an app like resumeguard though or did I miss something?
Are there any feeds besides the ones it comes installed with that I should try? Or will I encounter (dependency) problems

Hi, I have a 5500 and installed the hentgens rom, the following things don't work for me
-msn with gaim despite the softlink trick mentioned
-mediaplayer v2 , I get a sigbus when I try to play a mp3 with it, xmms works great, although I had to remove /tmp/xmms_0 or something because it would immediatly exit, before it worked ok ?
-but my biggest issue is that 98 out of 100 times the device won't resume when I hold the on/cancel button?

I installed your service pack as well, also did the ipkg-link mount /mnt/card thing.

Anymore suggestions?

For me, a programmer, that would mean that when I was programming I thought " what if the object (msn connection) isn't valid, what should I do, because I don't want to crash" then you would use an assert to catch that situation and don't crash.

Perhaps you miss a msn lib or something or you can't make a proper connection?

Hi, I installed that version, along with beneath a steel sky cd version, but got the following error when starting the game.

Looking for sky
Trying to start game 'Beneath a Steel Sky'
WARNING: Sound initialisation failed.!
Found BASS version v0.0368 (5099 dnr entries)
Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)


Then I just see a black screen.

I have the hentgens S2 rom , is there a special thing I should do for music?
No music doesn't seem to help.

Foudn the problem after reading some more on this forum, aparently you don\'t have to make the /usr/share/opera dir but symlink it to where you have it installed, works like a dream now..

If I do this after startup I have to restart opie so it can find the applications installed on there, is there an easier way?

Can you not just install them directly to the card? Why are you using a loop device (I\'ve no idea what it is).

The loop device  can be used to mount a file as a filesystem. I do this because I don\'t want to format the sd card with ext2 or alike. This way I have more I have the benefits of ext2 on the fat formatted card.

As a newbie I have 2 questions

1 At the moment  I have OZ 3.3.5 and a 43MB loop device on my sd card which works fine.

How do I mount this automaticly during startup? At the moment I have an entry in /etc/fstab like this
/mnt/card/loop/part /mnt/loop ext2 defaults,loop 0,0

which mount the part file on /mnt/loop fine, however it cannot be mounted on startup as the sd card is not mounted using the fstab (I guess)

If I do this after startup I have to restart opie so it can find the applications installed on there, is there an easier way?

2 Memory, at the moment I have a 32/32 mb layout, but what does that mean? I can install apps in /mnt/ram but does that mean I have less ram to run apps in? Or if /mnt/ram is full, do I still have 32MB ram free to run apps in?

Software / opera on sl-5500 OZ3.3.5 problems

I recently purchased a second-hand zaurus from ebay!

After flashing all the roms I settled for oz 3.3.5. I needed a good browser and I enjoyed opera 6, however version 7 is better as it has a special small screen renderer. So on I went to install the one you can find here on zug version 7.30.

It installs fine after making the /usr/share/opera directory and buttons softlink. It starts up and I can see the window and buttons and then it segfaults

I have the feeling that it is something trivia, so.... what is it??

sub,  well the procedure isn\'t that difficult, you just put an extra line on the address which contains the country, some extra stamps, et voila, it arrives at my door..

Just have a look at usps.com. Customs etc is not your problem, if it arrives at customs in my country and they think there is a problem(don\'t see why?) they are going to take it up with me.

So I would really like you to consider it as it is exactly what I\'m looking for and it would really help me out.
I have a verified Paypal address so that shouldn\'t be an issue. And an ebay account if you would like to see that.
