I\'m in Berkeley and wouldn\'t mind taking the BART in to SF for a meet.

To fix the screen refresh issue you could try:

echo 1 ] /proc/sys/kernel/printk

I am using 3.3.6pre1 on my 5600 without any really major glitches (though I can\'t say it was easy getting everything working as I want).  I have both an ATP 256MB MMC card (with ext2) and a 1GB CF Microdrive and they both work fine with my Z.  I use my Z as a PIM with Portabase (where I have several databases for lists of movies, books and music, as well as address/contact information that I imported from my PalmV) and KOPI to act as a calendar/appt-manager.

There is a problem with KOPI, which is that the kopi alarm applet does not work on OZ.  The other complaint that I have is that applications take waaaay too long to load (25 to 40 seconds) compared to the near instantenous load times on my PalmV.  This is a really serious impediment to using the Z as more than just a toy.  One last thing is that I need to reboot the Z before USB networking works.  Otherwise I am pretty content.

Sharp ROMs / dmesg messages
« on: March 27, 2004, 05:29:09 pm »
Thank you, tumnus.  I think this is the message you were referring to:

http://www.zaurususergroup.com/index.php?n...highlight=dmesg

It does mention \"cramfs: wrong magic\" and \"FAT: bogus logical sector size\", and it makes sense that these messages are just due to the OZ trying different filesystem until it finds a match, and are therefore nothing to worry about.  But the above message does not mention anything about deleting inodes, which seems more serious.  Why would OZ remove seemingly random inodes like that upon boot if it isn\'t a result of filesystem corruption?

Thanks for your help!

I am having a lot of the same messages (except for the ldconfig error) when I boot my 5600 running OZ 3.3.6-pre1.  It sounds like filesystem corruption and I am worried about my data.

I have the same hotplug problem on a 5600, running 3.3.6-pre1, even after I downgraded the hotplug package to the 3.3.2 version.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Where would you like to see pdaXrom go?

Where would I like pdaXrom to go?  To the 5600!!!
No, really, why don\'t you release it for the 5600?  There\'re lots of 5600 users dying to have a better alternative to OpenZaurus.
