Sharp ROMs / Cacko Zaurus Qtopia ROM 1.21 is available!

One slightly annoying thing I\'ve noticed with Cacko 1.21 is that the orange charge light only stays on for about a minute when the power supply is plugged in. The applet monitor shows that the unit is charging ok, and if I pull the power lead out and plug it back in, the light comes back on, but only for a minute or so.

I too am experiencing this problem. I\'m using a C750 with Cacko 1.21A with the large capacity battery and I am unable to charge it for more than a minute unless I completely power it down.

Apparently after that minute it thinks it\'s charged, so it stops charging the battery, but once AC power is removed it knows that it\'s only got the % it had before charging (or perhaps 1% more).

Anyone have a fix (other than completely powering down the system to charge it)?

I understand that the opie progs require libs, but I have been having problems installing or using the programs listed above... GAIM quits, Kismet cant connect to server, Ethereal wont install etc. I follow the instructions for each and I have gotten some progs working but not these.

The only things to avoid are the pdaXrom apps (which tend to be called *arm5tel.ipk) as they are for the most part X11 apps.

I didnt think that arm5 or arm5l had anything to do with pdaXrom... I thought that denoted the instruction set used in the program as being for the PXA255 (Arm Instruction Set v5(l): 5600 C750 C760 C860) as opposed to the PXA250 (Arm instruction set V4: 5500 C700).

Hi all, I\'m a bit new to the Z... just got my C750 a few days ago... figured out quite a bit quickly, but I have some questions.

Are there any software repositories that are specifically for C7x0 compatible apps, or best yet C7x0 Qt Apps?

I have some networking programs that I\'m trying to get running...

I got nessus, wellenreiter, vnc viewer, vnc server, wireless monitor, discoverer working, but I\'d like to get GAIM, Kismet, Ethereal, Nmap, bing, bmon working... Haven\'t had any luck yet.

Finally, are there any other utils that could come in handy to a network tech like myself?

Thanks a lot!

you can use zemufe, which is a graphical front end for emulators (znester included) which automatically displays it full screen (640 x 480).

I\'m looking for a C760 or C860 and the following accessories:

256+ MB SD Card
Low Power WiFi CF Card
Low Power Ethernet CF Card
Serial Cable or Serial CF Card

Being a college student (Computer Science and IT: Network Admin) working as a Network Technician for my school, this would be awesome for work and learning. I\'ve got about USD$ 700 to offer up (preferably via money order or paypal).

I\'m most interested in a package deal, but will consider just about anything.

Please contact me by e-mail: HoetgeDH at alfredstate.edu
with what items you have to offer and your asking price (and shipping please).

Thanks in advance!

Kindest regards,
Dan

I\'m interested in the Symbol Low Power Wireless CF Card and the 256MB SD Card. I live in the US (NY)... Do you still have them and would it be $100 shipped?

Thanks,
Dan (HoetgeDH at alfredstate dot edu)
