Mac Issues / Mounting w/ smbmount

I get the same error with my 5600 and my PowerBook. Try this. On your Zaurus go to Settings]PC Link]now change the connection type to USB - TCP/IP (advanced). Click OK. Now when you try to mount the Zaurus use it\'s IP instead. It should mount without a problem.

I am having trouble using Zaurus Mac Sync. It will not connect to my Z. I have installed the USB driver and followed the directions. Is it because I am running ROM Version 1.0? I am thinking about changing the Version. Any suggestions on what ROM I should use for a stock SL-5600 w/ PXA250?

Zaurus Mac Sync relies on ftp to connect to the zaurus.  I don\'t know anything about the SL-5600, but if it is the same has the 3.x roms, it does not run an ftp server.  The way I made this work for me was to download and run an ftp server on the zaurus.

Something else to note, if the 5600 uses the new address book format, Zaurus Mac Sync will not work.  I am using theKompany address book on a 5500 with theKompany ROM.

Hi,
I\'m using your sync soft for 2-3 weeks already. The screenshot on your page shows also the ToDo option as active but in the version that I use (0.9a) only the AddressBook can be synchronized. Is there a newer version of the program available?
Ovi

The screenshot was from a development version I was working on that had the applescript to read the mac todo list, that\'s all it did tho.  There is no newer version.

Mac Issues / ZMacSync - status

If you want some code that is basically a sync core and could be made generic that is currently used for the AddressBook, download the code for Zaurus Mac Sync from http://homepage.mac.com/dzins/helios

I would have said something earlier, but I didn\'t know about this user group.

If you are using Jason\'s original code, it deletes all of the AddressBook data and recreates it, so you lose anything that does not sync with the Zaurus (pictures, etc...).  The code in my updated version updates the Mac AddressBook instead of re-creating it every time and supports more fields.  The sync engine could be pretty generic in that it just compare the zaurus array with the last sync\'d array and the mac array with the last sync\'d array and then uses the sync master setting for conflict resolution.

Mac Issues / Better MacZSync?

Please note, I have taken the Zaurs Mac Sync application and improved it quite a bit.  The way it was, it deleted all of your OS X data and replaced it with the sync data.  So if you had anything in your OS X address book like pictures or any data it didn\'t sync, you lost it.
I am not saying the improvements I made are perfect by any means, but it is a big improvement.  You can download it and the latest source code from http://homepage.mac.com/dzins/helios

The sync engine could actually be made pretty generic pretty easily.  I was in the process of using AppleScript to gather the ToDo data and sync it with the Zaurus when I ran out of time.

I currently use theKompany rom 1.0 and theKompany PIM applications and it works very well for the addressbook.
