OpenZaurus/Opie/Qtopia / mediaplayer 2 and mp3 skipping
« on: August 13, 2004, 02:25:41 pm »
I had the same problem, it is not modules you need, but a mod to a config file.  I remember quickly finding the answer with a little googling.  Correct me if I am wrong, but the song plays at normal speed, but skips ahead in the buffer, making it very choppy and about twice as fast as it should be.

I found it.. open up /root/Settings/opiexine.cf

your answer is inside the file =]

General Discussion / How to NAND backup and restore on 5600/6000?
« on: May 28, 2004, 11:31:24 am »
I was able to do nand restore from the files mentioned in this thread... although I have a problem... when I do a nand restore, it says there was an error and 1 bad block.

it appears to work fine, but when I try to update from sd/cf using OK-power, it just does nothing :/

I created symlinks of the mountpoints to the sd... works in *most*  cases.

good luck.

it did eventually work... the drive must be spun up, then the cable attached, then the z powered on.  I was unable to test suspend and resume... very bad things happened :/

- write your own scripts! lol

I am using the supplied tar file.. that script rendered my Oz unusable... I can\'t even get Oz reflashed.. Sharp-based works though.. and anyway how do you get to the console in Oz?  When I quit opie, it just says openzaurus login: and is frozen.

« on: May 27, 2004, 02:57:57 pm »
I found out what happened... a script was executed, and in a bad spot.. the fatal command was rm -rf * /

And yes I am flashing properly.. I even verified my files and md5s\'...

Sharp based works, Oz hangs up right before runlevel2.

I am not sure what happened.. but when I flash with opie / oz - I get a kernel panic.  When I flash with Sharp based roms, it works fine.

When oz tries to boot, it looks like busybox is invoked without a command, then a kernel panic...

Any ideas?

I wrote a script to load the required modules and mount my desired drives... I named it S50sdamount.sh chmod 744 and copied it to /etc/init.d/ then symlinked it to /etc/rc2.d/

it works.. but for some reason it says my partitions are not valid block devices. I don\'t understand why it does this.. I can run the script again once I am in opie and it works fine.

but for some reason the mount points are not scanned by applications such as aqpkg and the doctab.  It only does this when I boot off the SD.

any input would be nice...

User Request for Applications / for the 5600\'s...
« on: May 25, 2004, 11:17:32 am »
I have been tinkering with my z for months now... I decided I like Oz and it works with everything I want to do... I am currently running 3.3.4 and it is fast and stable. I have noticed people packaging the new builds of oz with opie - but nobody has done it for the 5600...

I have the feeds and such, but I just don\'t know what I am doing.  Within minutes I render my z a brick.  I am trying to get oz-gcc2 (any build or gcc3 with working compat) and opie-1.1.3 working then run it all off of my 512 SD.

I don\'t have access to a linux machine.. and just downloading stuff is a pain.  what is the easiest way to accomplish this on the z.

I learned the device uses the kaweth driver and the CDCEther module.  I load them and it appears to initialise.. although I don\'t know where to go from there...
