Cxx0 General discussions / Want wireless sync and file transfer
« on: July 03, 2004, 12:47:23 pm »
Everything is going well (more or less) with my c860.  I can sync and transfer files over usb-tcp/ip and home (w2k) extremely well and at work (XP pro) usually.  the networks show the zaurus.  At home on w2k, I can access the internet with my Linksys cf wireless card without difficulty.  I have  Linksys wireless router, with other computers cabled in.  How do I access files and sync via my wireless card.  Everything has been going well using information here at ZUG.  Have done a lot of searching, but still don't get it for wireless sync and transfer...thanks for any info and guidance...Steve

Cxx0 General discussions / Does any sync to more than one PC??
« on: June 06, 2004, 01:45:27 pm »
JD:  I am wondering if Qtopia Desktop (on a PC) doesn\'t work with the c860 series.  I read another post somewhere else here where some one was suggesting using the software for the 5600 but it doesn\'t recognize the c860.  The software like says it is the 5500 software, but once opened up it shows the 5600??  I even tried the software which came with the c860 and it does the same thing (Qtopia desktop)...doesn\'t recognize the machine.  Strange to me.  Intellisync works fine to Outlook etc....thanks for the reply though...Steve

Does anyone sync with more than one PC?  I sync at home for outlook and files, but would also like to sync at work for the same.   I can sync with one main computer very easily.   Trying to do two computers seems to be a problem, having to do reboots, clear sync info, and similiar....less than easy.  I have c860 of course and using the cacko \"elaina\" rom (nice).  I am syncing to a w2k machine at home (no problem) or a windows 98 machine at work....thanks...Steve

May c860 syncs tcp/ip, and shows up on the netork.  I can access the internet via wireless (linksys cwf12) (fast..very cool).  Why can\'t I sink or see the network via wireless?  Isn\'t it on the network when using the network? Can tweek further and understanding more, but is generally doing what I need it to do..thanks Steve

Cxx0 General discussions / Samba server in the c860
« on: May 14, 2004, 01:00:19 pm »
Does any know where I can find out more about the operation and using the \"Samba Server\" built into the c860?  I can link my c860 with the \"advance tcp/ip\" option, sync, transfer files, etc.  It does list a ip adress.  everything is fine that way.  I can\'t \"see\" the c860 from the desktop \"network neighborhood\".  I have the stock rom having just bought the c860 and am running Win2000 on the desktop. Thanks...Steve

Hey Bob...I already had Linksys equipment, so I got a Linksys wireless routes.  They also make a CF card which is wireless.  The card had a good rep here on the forum.  Got all Linksys gear at Staples.  They had to do a special order on the cfw card, but that only took 2 days.  The rest was in stock.  Now I am trying to determine how the c860 behaves on a wireless network...how is it seen, etc..Definitely working, can get the internet via my routes.

Just to let the group know that my c860 is doing as it should.  Finally got a linksys cfw12 card.  Plugged right, and with minimum amount of guessing got it to work on my Linksys wireless system.  Can now use the internet wireless, etc.  One question is the c860n supposed to show up on my network system (as seen from my laptop) while wireless?  Is there any way to examine the network from the c860 while online...I am as happy as a clam in the sand!..Steve

Greetings:  Am playing with my new c860 and exploring its options.  I can sync to Win 2000 pro through USB-I/O and all works well.   I can sync to Outlook, transfer files with Zaurus File Transfer, etc.

Was trying to see what USB-tcp/ip was all about.  I know you use Zaurus Manager on the PC to specify its usage.  You need to specify USB-tcp/ip in PCLink on the Zaurus.  I don\'t seem to have a network driver set up. obvously there is a usb driver installed because usb-i/o is working.  I can\'t seem to get Install Hardware to accept any of the drivers from the Zaurus disk.  Therefore no network adapter created.  Any suggestions, comments, etc.   Am doing fine with USB-i/o but would like explore further capabilities...thanks...Steve

Cxx0 General discussions / FAQ for c860??
« on: April 29, 2004, 08:07:22 pm »
Is there an FAQ which is specific for the c860?  The Unofficial Zaurus FAQ seems to lean toward the 5000? series machines (this may not be true....just my preception).  I can gleam much info from the Unofficial but still have questions which pertain to the c860....thanks again for any advice..Steve

Cxx0 General discussions / Control and Alt keys??...keyhelper applet??
« on: April 29, 2004, 08:01:58 pm »
In the minimual documentation, it speaks of a control and alt key, but I am not sure if they are already programmed (could have fooled me) or are they programmable with a keyhelper applet which needs to be loaded and installed?  Can anyone advise me on the above...thanks...steve

« on: April 27, 2004, 09:39:55 pm »
Just got a c860.  Have found sources for AC adapter, charge cord, Car adapter, even wireless CF cards.  Where can I get a USB cable to have a second one?  Haven\'t seen it browsing the source offered at this site (that I have seen)...thanks...Steve
