This C1000 is in excellent condition, I just want to sell it immediately. It comes with a min-a host cable, a mini mouse, 1 2gb sd card, 1 512mb sd card, a card reader, the sync cable, a Planex cf wifi card, all of the original manuals, the cd, and the original box. There is no catch, this is really cheap, I just need to sell it immediately.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Sd Formatting Trouble

Hi there,

When I try to format me new 2gb sd card(mkfs.vfat -F 16 /dev/mmcda1), I get this warning:

WARNING: Not enough clusters for a 16 bit FAT!mThe filesystem will be misinterpreted as having a 12 bit FAT without mount option "fat=16".
mkfs.vfat: attempting to create a too large file system

Is there a maximum partition size that I'm exceeding?

Also, when I try to mount the partiton(mount /dev/mmcda1 /mnt/card), I get:

mount: Mounting /dev/mmcda1 on /mnt/card failed: Invalid argument

By the way, I'm doing this stuff from `Konsole` under Cacko. The card was still read/writable using my card reader connected to my laptop, but when I tried getting the Uboot stuff to work, the lights never stopped flashing. Any advice(besides grow a brain)?

Thanks,

Matt

Sorry for the dumb question. I'll look a little harder before I post next time.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Revisiting Klimt

So, I'm looking into the prospect of 3D programming for the Zaurus. Mesa3D looks nice, but slow... on the other hand, there's a fairly old 3D library called Klimt out there.

Klimt Website

Klimt is meant to be similar to OpenGL|ES. The whole thing is coded with fixed-point arithmetic. It can display high-poly (around 1000) models at over 100fps on a 206Mhz StrongARM.

There are a couple of threads that point to this library running on the Zaurus... with the Sharp ROM. The Klimt code supplies interfaces for both QT and X11, however, so there's hope for pdaXrom.

Unfortunately, the code fails horribly when you try to compile it now. Probably because it's over two years old. I don't have GCC2.95 lying around anywhere to see if it'll compile under that, or the requisite libraries Klimt needs aside.

I've sent a letter to the maintainer... no idea if I'll get a reply. Is anyone interested in Klimt for pdaXrom? I'd definitely use it to make games if I could just get it to build.

Hi there,

I know you posted this a while ago, but I just got a C-1000, and I'm very interested in trying to get some 3d stuff to work on it. Let me know if theres anything I can do to help. I'm not really a programmer, but I have been doing visual effects for films and video games for years.

1 Linksys WCF11 wifi card
1 Sandisk 256mb sd card
1 Sandisk 512mb cf card
2 EL-Bl06 lithium-ion batteries(in addition to the EA-BL08 that comes with the unit)
1 CE-BC21 battery cherger(works with EA-BL06 and EA-BL08)
1 extra ac adapter from old sl-5500
1 Body Glove carrying case

And everything that came with the unit minus the stylus. I'll throw in a couple of replacement styli, but I guess you would have to buy one elsewhere if you wanted it to fit correctly into the unit. I'll ship the unit in its original box with all of the documentation and warranty papers.

Sharp ROMs / trouble with new Cacko Qtopia rom
« on: June 23, 2004, 03:26:56 am »
So after a few more failed experiments, I finally did a nand flash restore back to the original japanese rom, and did the Cacko rom install after that, and it worked fine. I don't know if this is in a readme file anywhere, but it probably should be. OpKnight, thanks for suggesting this -- I never would have figured this out on my own.

Sharp ROMs / trouble with new Cacko Qtopia rom
« on: June 12, 2004, 05:30:00 am »
I just tried to reinstall pdaX 1.05, and now when I choose install new ROM, I get the congratulation page asking me if I want to format the internal user flash, and regardless of which answer I select, it goes straight back to the main installation page. When I open a shell and look at dmesg, the last line reads:

nand_erase: attempt to erase a bad block at addr 0x03ec8000

Anyone have any idea what I should do about this?

Thanks,

Matt

Sharp ROMs / trouble with new Cacko Qtopia rom

So I tried reformatting my cf card using the z -- still no luck. So it soulds like the next thing to try would be the NAND restore. Can someone point me to a clean NAND backup?

Thanks a lot,

Matt

Thanks a lot for the input! I had formatted my cards using WinXP, is this a no-no? Should I do it with the Z using mkfs? OpKnight, when you say you restored your 760 from a NAND backup, what was the image(or whatever its called) that you used? I don\'t have a functional NAND backup. Thank you guys for getting back to me.

Thanks for the tip. I believe I\'ve been following the instructions correctly, but I\'m still having the same problem. I\'ve tried it with both a cf and sd card. One thing I have noticed is that if I opt to reformat the usr partition at the end of the install, I end up with the Enter runlevel prompt at the Please wait... screen, but if I say no to the usr reformat, I get the Please wait... screen without the Enter runlevel prompt, and a bunch of text flashes at the bottom of the screen -- appearing to scroll behind the white part of the screen. I can of course get to a console shell by choosing 6 from the installer screen. Is there any thing I can look for that might give me a clue besides dmesg? I\'ve tried formatting the user partition both before and after doing the Flash repartition. Is this necessary? Could this problem have anything to do with the fact that prior to flashing the new rom I was running pdaX 1.05 with the custom installer that created the single root partition? Sorry to be asking so many dumb questions, I just don\'t know what to do, and I REALLY want to start using my C860. Also, if this is too hard to diagnose via forum post exchanges, I would be happy to pay someone to look at the machine. Anyone interested in persuing that route, send me a private message.

Thanks for you patience,

Matt
