Sharp ROMs / USB flashing

Has anyone managed to get this to work?
It looks like you can upload files to the Zaurus by ftp - the username is zaurus and the password doesn\'t seem to be set, but I can\'t log in.

To test it out I tried booting off of CF to the pdaxrom installer, then going to the command prompt. With the USB cable connected, I can ftp from my PC to the Z at 192.168.129.201, but I can only login if I do
passwd zaurus and set a password first.
The script in /etc/update/update_usb looks like it waits for the update files to get uploaded, haven\'t got much further yet...

Hope your Zaurus arrived ok.
I\'ve not had mine long, so I can\'t answer all your questions! I\'ll do my best though.

The AC adapter is 5v - I\'m using a cheapo multi-voltage thing and it works fine...
The USB sync cable has a connector you can plug your ac adapter in to (instead of connecting it at the back) - there doesn\'t seem to be any difference.
I saw a japanese website about making a cable which draws power from usb to charge the zaurus with - this might be a good alternative to an ac adaptor - I\'ll try to find the link

I\'ve got a 10MB CF ethernet card.  I think throughput is limited by the CF interface so there\'s no point getting a 10/100MB one. 10MB is faster than my broadband anyway, so it\'s not a bottleneck!
