The size of the Zaurus but a full micro PC...
With Wifi, bluetooth, GPS, good battery life, high speed mobile network, a small camera (for conference call) and I won't resist to buy one.
With a sliding keyboard, I will have an heart attack : "No, Noooo.... My precious... Haaahhaaa...".
Then it really sounds like a HTC Universal ...

Perhaps it's not such a bad idea to set up and get everything working as root before figuring out things for normal users?

Also, now when I try to do 'ts_calibrate', I get the following:
Code: [Select]
#ts_calibrate
ts_calibrate: error while loading shared libraries: libts-1.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Hmm... That's strange, because ts_calibrate is in the "libts-bin" package, which looks for /usr/lib/libts-0.0.so.0 and not /usr/lib/ibts-1.0.so.0.
See if it works for you when you "apt-get install libts-bin" and run "ts_calibrate" again.

well, now meanie's gone and got married, it's allowed me to get ahead! And it won't be too long before 'adf' also takes over and gains 3rd place.
Sad to say meanie, your crown as number 2 lasted one year!
I think lardman's crown as number 1 will take a bit longer to beat, as it's taken me 3y9m to get to 2800 posts and lardman's way ahead with 4514 in 4y5m!
--- edit -- looks like ZDevil's gonna reach club2000 before CapnFish unless the Cap'n pulls out all the stops

Hereby I post my 2000th post in  https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showto...st&p=176564

After installing your packages, I have similar issues:
1. taps on the screen correspond to the "rotated" coordinates.
2. ts_calibrate looks for tslib-0.0-0 and the one installed by the package is tslib 1.0-0
So did you install these? https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=25701

I have my 860 running EABI for a long while. The only key is to find the right kernel. So far the Angstrom one works fine.
The rootfs is not specific for individual models and kernels.
There are some discussions in the pinned threads.

Debian / Xfce4 With Eabi?

Easy:
First check what you have:
ls -l /usr/lib/ts

In fact most knowledge required is for Debian in general. So in the end you will become a skilled Debian user.

Perhaps the Service Manual (if there is one) will illuminate us here?

A nice one. But I must be getting crazier than ever to be obsessed with FIVE machines running Debian for fun/work/dev (Eee - Lenny; 3200, 860, MDA pro x2  - EABI) ... The poor king of his own tiny gadgets will be overwhelmed by such an influx of all good concubines ...
By the way I contacted a friend of mine in China to get me a new spare keyboard and shell in black (probably factory spare items) for around US$20. So I don't care whether the device is used or not. It will look all new again.

I posted simple howto about mounting the SD and the CF card using autofs4 module. Check my blog, please.
Enjoy~
Just flashed the hda1 kernel. Very smoothie. Cool.

The autofs module comes so timely! With this I won't miss the matchbox panel applets anymore. This also removes one of the last barriers in my little desktop project. I've created applets for them but it's one for each (CF/SD/USB), which is far from optimal.

For a funny reason (and in fact it's a miscommunication with a seller whose English is next to incomprehensible ...) it so happened that I bidded two (oops!) used MDA pro separately on ebay.
So I will keep one for myself and (re)sell the extra one right away.
I offer it for 170 euros (final price) -- a very competitive offer.
It is practically still second hand, because I won't be using it at all but resell it again.

The original accessories (battery, holder, wall charger, software cd, memory, stock case) are all in place, plus an extra 4GB SD card.
The device is fully functional. NOT sim locked.
Some tiny minor marks of use, which are expected.

I am planning to install Debian on this by now low-priced device. (See https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=25666) If interested I can also set it up for you.

Brief specs:
Processor: Intel Bulverde 520 MHz
Connectivity: Tri-Band GSM (900/1800/1900), GPRS (Class 10), WCDMA/UMTS/3G, WiFi 802.11b (WEP & WPA compatible), Bluetooth 1.2, USB, Infrared
Display: 3.7" 64k-color 640x480(VGA) Transflective TFT touchscreen, with swivel to convert into landscape and portrait modes (almost the same as the Zaurus C-series)
Memory: 128 MB internal flash storage, 64MB RAM, SD (with SDIO)
Input: Stylus, Keyboard (62-key QWERTY)
Cameras: 1.3MP CMOS Camera with a strong LED flash light + QVGA (320x240) CMOS
Battery: 1620mAh Lithium Ion Polymer (now a lot of inexpensive extended batteries are available, up tp 4800mAh and even 5200mAh)
Dimensions & Weight: very similar to the Zaurus C-series
Operating System: WM6 (now it can run Angstrom, Poky and Debian EABI!), see http://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/How...d7836d0329f8ef6 and http://wiki.neilandtheresa.co.uk/Titchy_Mobile

More details can be seen here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_Universal  and  http://www.pdagold.com/articles/detail.asp?a=257
Major community site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=247

PM me if interested. The price is final. Will ship worldwide. Shipment options are up to the buyer.

I will wait here for a week before ebaying it.

Thank you!
