Software / Audible alarm program for Zaurus?
« on: June 12, 2004, 05:40:52 pm »
Hello,
I am looking for a free Audible alarm program for the Zaurus. I want something to let me know when I have meetings or anything else. Idealy it would be similar to \"Bug Me\" for the palm.
Thanks in advance!

I thought that this was dead? Last news release was in 2002 - now they claim it will be out in 2004.

A 14-ounce notebook replacement that runs XP and offers full computer functionality is the promise of OQO\'s Ultra Personal Computer. Jonathan Betts-LaCroix, OQO\'s chief technology officer, gives ZDNet\'s David Berlind a preview of the unit, set for release in July 2004.

Any thoughts or opinions?
It\'s a nice design- except that the screen will get scratched - I wonder if we can convert this to Linux? With 1 gig processor and 20 gig hard drive - it would be cool! Biggerst problem is estimated price is $2000 USD   - OUCH!

I still love my SL-C760!

Do I have to make a file called bustamove.sh using vi or some other editor and type the command below?

/opt/QtPalmtop/bin/bustamove.sh:

#!/bin/sh
export SDL_QT_INVERT_ROTATION=1
/home/QtPalmtop/bin/snes9x -xs 320 -ys 240 -ns /home/zaurus/Documents/Rom_Files/Bust-a-Move.smc.gz

If I type #!/bin/sh I get an error
bash: #!/bin/sh: event not found
when I type the rest
export SDL_QT_INVERT_ROTATION=1
/home/QtPalmtop/bin/snes9x -xs 320 -ys 240 -ns /home/zaurus/Documents/Rom_Files/Bust-a-Move.smc.gz
all I get is a black screen. No flickering - nothing - just black.

Any ideas?

Sharp ROMs / Hard Reset SL-C760? Is this possible?
« on: May 09, 2004, 03:51:22 pm »
I think I will just flash the Rom. The new Cacko rom looks wicked! Will I have to re-install the word/xls/power point programs or are they included in Cacko QT 1.21? If not, Is there an easy way to get them off my Zaurus or Zaurus CD before I flash?
Thanks!

Sharp ROMs / Hard Reset SL-C760? Is this possible?
« on: May 09, 2004, 11:42:40 am »
I would like to perform a \"Hard Reset\" to bring the Zaurus back to the \"like new\" original configuration that would erase all of my files except the ones needed for the ROM. Is there an easy way to do this or should I just reinstall the Cacko rom?

Right now I have the cacko rom. Why would I need to use the X11 rom? Will my programs on the cacko be able to run on the X11 or are the programs specifically designed for it? Is there a way to use X11 like Konsole and just \"pop it up\" during my Cacko session.

Sorry if this question offends anyone. I have only been using Linux for the last 4 days   - Just picked up a used 600 page copy of \"Linux Unleashed\" so the silly questions should slow down
