BTW Hrw I am jumping through all the hoops to get a moneybookers account for the sole reason to donate money to you. Paypal may not be the best but it was easier to give Mickey money since I already had paypal.

Paypal does not support Poland - sorry.

I can create paypal account but it will be one way - I could send money via paypal but cannot get via paypal so I decided to not use it at all.

That's ok like I said it is worth it keep up the great work and just let me know when spitz is supported so I can join in the fun and 2.6 goodness.

SL-C3000: Flashing an initrd.bin is not necessary in 3.5.4-RC (hence it isn't provided).
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=100654\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Ok now I am confused so what do I rename the *rootfs.tar.gz file too if not initrd.bin? just want to make sure it works am very eager to get it working.

and choose your device from the Installation menu on the left-hand side.

That said, it looks like there's no HDD image included in this release, so just rename one of the *rootfs.tar.gz files to initrd.bin (depending on whether you want barebones bootstrap, GPE or opie) and place that on the CD/SD card along with the updater.sh (renamed to remove the .spitz) and the zImage.bin file (again renamed)

Thank you the link is what confused me I started there and read "1) Download files: zImage.bin, initrd.bin, hdimage1.tgz, updater.sh. If the filenames are different, change them to the above or else the zaurus will not be able to find them. The filenames are somewhat case sensitive. Either use the capital I in zImage.bin, or all lower, or all caps." Now that I know I am not looking for the HDD image it should go more smoothly I was renaming the bootstrap to hdd and opie to initrd oops

Thanks again for the support and great distro.

I will try it on my c3000 and report on the results good and bad (hopefully more good than bad     ) Keep up the great work guys this would only be a geek toy pda without guys like you who turn it into a mini Linux laptop. I use this for some of my INFOSEC assessments it rocks!

I dunno.
It seems to me that people keep pushing for fast oz releases then bitching when the release is still clearly unstable. Give 'em time.
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=96727\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

I agree I am just eager since I just got my c3000 and am having trouble with 3.5.3 so I am hoping to get 3.5.4 soon.

hello
just to help add to the group for some reason I could not unmount my 1 gig sd card so I just ejected it.
Then when trying fdisk /dev/mmcda
I get the error can't open
so after fiddling around and seeing that the mount command was there even though unmount wasn't I notice that there is a mmcblk0p1 the size of a gig so I do fdisk /dev/mmcblk0p1 and lo and behold it works  so I now have a fdisked and formatted sd card. I hope this helps someone else

Hello,
Thanks for the info if you mean this how to https://www.oesf.org/index.php?title=Step-b...ing_for_newbies
I did read it but fdisk was giving me can't open errors I was trying to find the step by step on doing the mke.ext2 because I really just need to format. I got the e2fsprogs and e2fsprogs-mke2fs but am unsure still on how to format that is why I just asked for a link I do not mind researching the issue or even rtfm I am just stuck on this one thing.
once again thank you for the help I do appreaciate it.

Hello,

Well first with the weird then a couple of other comments.

When I flash and install OZ 3.5.3 some how remembers my name and time zone which is cool and all but I want to make sure it is a clean install am I doing something wrong?

Another note I am trying to donate to a couple of developers but when I go to use paypal for Mickey it is in German I don't know how to switch it to English so I can make a payment is there any way to create English links for all the developers so us less educated single language people can make donations.    (because I think no matter how much you paid for the device you have to be honest if it was not for the dedication and brilliance of the OZ developers your zaurus would not be half as cool or useful.)

Also totally unrelated I have been searching several days on how to format my SD card in ext2 I have read the docs and searched the forums but the answers I have found do not seem to match with what I have. I have a c750 could some one please give me a hand or a link I would greatly appreciate it.

Last comment but not least this OZ version is by far the coolest and best yet with the web browser and wellenreiter installed defacto and the look and feel as great as ever I just want to say keep up the great work guys we all are grateful for it.
