Zaurus - pdaXrom / Kathrin Rc10 And Bluetooth Support

Hi zumi !

Nice to hear that it is doable ... I have no idea on how to use pdaxrom builder so I will stand by hoping for pdaxrom team or someone (you when you have time, maybe  to upgrade bluez drivers.

I was hoping, since I talked some monts ago about this topic with Laze and Sash that they actually included the newest Bluez in the RC10  

Thx for answering / shoving some light over this matter !

Oki I assume that silence means only that Bluetooth support is the same as in RC9 ....

Just for the record (once again) it would be quite cool to update the bluetooth drivers in order to support most of bluetooth cards.

Hi people,

I was a pdaxrom fan until I bought my Ambicom BT200 CF bluetooth card *thinking it was the OLD, compatible version, but instead I was stuck with the new one with the blue cristal plastic and visible led thru it*, which was not supported. I started using Cacko 1.22 because it had enhanced support for bluetooth cards as it used Updated bluetooth drivers, supporting most of bluetooth CF cards.

I am wondering if this last version of pdaxrom did a catch up with latest bluetooth drivers, or I will not have support for my bluetooth card.

Anyone knows ? I am pretty anxious to give pdaxrom a try, and maybe install KDE, etc

 I got an SLC860, brought from JAPAN, few months of use, mint condition, used since day one with a screen protector, with:

Ambicom Bluetooth CF
Pharos Modem / Fax 56K CF
Trendnet Ethernet 10/100 CF
Trendnet WIFI 802.11b (but it seems to hang up when it warms up, something like 2 to 5 minutes to be turned on... so I am NOT counting it in the money side, just giving it as a freebie.
512MB SD Viking
32MB CF 45x canon(I used it to upload some roms)
Original charger
USB transfer / Power Charger Cable *the one that retracts
a Samsonite small bag, suits like a glove...

I am selling it because I bought a notebook as I need to transport my whole "desktop" and (iiiick !!!) run VS.NET .. which is a nono for the zaurus. Other than that, I am quite satisfied with my zaurus and it proved a nice companion in several occasions!

Please PM me, and we can talk it... Also please include an offer. Consider that I will sell it preferrably with all the CF accesories.

Friends,

I had OPERA opened, browsing for a page, and suddenly screen went black, then the text "MODPROBE" appeared on VERTICAL like if the screen was rotated like a pda, but it wasnt, I had it in "laptop" mode) with a FONT reminiscent of "COMMODORE 64" (big font, pixelated).

Then screen went WHITE.

Then system was in the "SET CLOCK" application, just like a "reset" but with no reset time.

Welcome to the twilight zone

Any ideas ?

Hi !

Cacko rom is the only one to be on the "edge of technology" for me .... I had this Ambicom BT2000CF bluetooth card ....

No other rom supports it.

Even pdaxrom can't make it it seems !! (I talked lots of times with Laze and Sash up to no avail).

CACKO DOES SUPPORT IT !  for me ... this is the DIFFERENCE.

I just finished installing Netfront ....

Now I wonder if anyone knows:

Netfront 3.x LITE (the one in the cacko feed) is newer than Netfront 1.x (FULL I assume) available in Sharp site for download (for C3000) ? or is it just that lite version has different number ?

Maybe you think this is a bug, or can give me a hint on how to solve it:

1) Trying to install netfront from network: I get the "sorry ipkg had a problem" either into SD or internal RAM installation

2) I got some ipks in a CF, I plug it in, and I choose "Install Applications" in the Package Installer ... it takes a moment to scan for ipk to install ... and when it brings the list, it lists each ipkg repeated like 9 times.

FIXED ...

problem was in /etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf !!

The ambicom card had an entry but it had commented out with the "#" the manfid row ...

I uncommented it, and commented the VERSION row.

This came with the cacko 1.22 / hotfix 1.22a installation ... I mean, I Did not comment the manfid ...

Now works like a charm...

BTW ... is there any GUI application avail for cacko 1.22 / 1.22a to search for bluetooths or transfering files, etc. (I got the phone, and all I can do is use it as a modem, but on the other side, from the phone side, I can transfer an image thru bluetooth and it gets stored in the zaurus. I am wondering how can I do the inverse)....

But I add it into the "config" file and it still keeps unrecognized ... anyway I will give it a try later ... right now I am about to test Cacko with my never used before Ambicom Bluetooth CF2000C card ... thanks for adding support for it !!

I Plug it in and it does not "appears" on the taskbar.

BTW... I cannot find it in the config textfile ...

I do a cardctrl ident and ... there it is !

Friends,

I just switched from pdaxrom to Cacko in order to get my bluetooth (an ambicom BT2000C card) working ...

I was truly pleased with the new cacko release rom !!!

Anyway, I got TWO wifi CF cards ... one is a trendnet but I think it is kind of broken, as I plug it in and only give me some minutes of service before led BLINKS once and zaurus gets freezed.

So I grabbed my OLD AMBICOM CF WIFI CARD ... only to find that cacko does not recognize it !!

I added it to the CONFIG file , under /etc/pcmcia but it is still not recognized !

Is it right ? is that the file where I got to add the card ?

Any suggestions ?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Games On Pdaxrom

Hey

What is the trick with stratagus ? I tried "astroseries" and "battle of survival" and both just freezes my C860  when I press "start new game".

I run them from X11, from inside a shell window ...

I am assuming that zaurus runs out of memory (and just hangs, which is rather lame)

I tried to run it before loading x11, but it complains about not finding a DLL (for mouse).

Any hint on how to make stratagus work ?
