You will also find similar glasses at most outdoor adventure shops.  They are more commonly called "glacier glasses."  Cool design.  A little too small for those who depend on actual perscription lenses...

Site Suggestions, Requests, and Updates / Who is the site targeted for?
« on: February 20, 2004, 02:10:40 am »
Oh, but wait! There\'s more!

Information was requested and thus I feel compelled to reply (late though it may be :).

I found ZUG a while back when I was looking for alternative ROMs besides OZ and Sharpie.  The only place that seemed to have a reliable source for ROMs that was easy to find  was here.  I did a little digging through the forums, found them to be very helpful and polite.  Thus I stuck arround.

I forget exactly how I landed ZUG Team status.  Doesn\'t really matter.  To me, all we do is make sure everything is tidy and functioning normallly.  Nothing special except our shared love for the Z (although I do have 7x0 envy every now and then :).

I enjoy what I do, although my time has been extremely limited recently.  I volunteer for tons of activities, projects, etc.  I enjoy helping others, it\'s what I do best.

I have high hopes that the site will stay around forever.  Good people and good information reside here, it would be as shame to see any of it disappear.

For those who don\'t read slashdot religiously, I found the following story interesting.  If you can\'t stand the slashdot blather, here is a link directly to the linuxdevices article which includes a link to the project  site.  Thoughts, comments, praises, denouncements and other such ilk are welcome.

Lance,

offroadgeek has reenabled the registration module, you should be able to create an account now.

Thanks!

Lance,

Sorry it took so long to reply with some juicy bits for you, Work did beckon me to leave ZUG for a couple of hours .

This appears to be a module that isn\'t running at the moment.  I really don\'t want to enable it without first clearing it with offroadgeek as it might be disabled at the moment for a reason.  As soon as we can enable it, we look forward to your registration .

One of the biggest complaints about the 5x00 that I had (and I am sure many of you had) was the fact that they thumboard just didn\'t play nice in the dark.  VERY cool mod!

Off Topic forum / ZUG a bit busier than usual...

www.dynamism.com does provide warranty and support for their products.  You just can\'t call Sharp directly for support.  From what I understand, dynamism\'s support and warranty are really good.

Wether it\'s a 6000, or if I take the risk of no warranty with a 7x0.

Well.  Honestly, I am getting cxx envy.  the 5xxx had it\'s fun, but the clamshell does appeal to me with a bigger keypad and a wider assortment of ROMs available to it.  If I had the money, off to a C760 I would go

Also, I believe that was my bad.  Not sure why I tossed it in the driver section in the first place.  Sorry about that.

General Discussion / Guests posting to the forums
« on: December 19, 2003, 08:01:36 pm »
That\'s the first thing I do when I hit any site that I happen to log into (required or not).

I kinda wish we required logins; it\'s easier to keep track of everything when you are able to put a name to a problem.  But I also feel that more problems get resolved because people want to post anonymously.  There is a little caveat to that though, If guests are regular members, it would be nice to have them register as users.  I wouldn\'t want to force anybody to do so, most people who do visit on a regular basis are registered.

As I recall I voted \"no\" to guest submissions, but perhaps it\'s a good thing the vote went MIA

Pittsburgh / Suggestions for 1st Pittsburgh ZUG Meeting
« on: December 19, 2003, 07:53:16 pm »
tblumer:

If you can get a conference room, set up a date.  Probably best if it\'s after the holidays, in January some time.

I haven\'t seen anybody give a definitive Date/Time/Place.  So, tblumer:  \"Tag, you\'re it!\"
