Cxx0 General discussions / Memory problem with new C-750?
« on: June 09, 2004, 02:43:04 am »
Found this link- I think my \"problem\" is solved-
  http://www.bargainpda.com/default.asp?news...sID=1592#memory

\"Memory

According to the System Info applet, total memory on the device is 96MB, divided between 32MB of Flash Memory (for storage of programs and the OS) and 64 MB of RAM, i.e. program ececution and data memory. Initially this was confusing; it seems to be at odds with Sharp\'s original press release and Dynamism\'s page, which both say that the C750 has 64 MB Flash and the C760 has 128 MB Flash. If you want to see for yourself, here are the Memory, Storage and Version tabs from that applet. Dynamism technial support explained to me that 32 MB of Flash Memory is reserved (and locked) by Sharp for the Operating System, which is why the apparent Flash is only 32 MB. \"

So- All I can do is recommend K. Again- fast shipping (got it to the US in 4 days and marked it as gift) and great communication.

I got my C750 from K this weekend. Shipment was quick and communication was easy. But...my Zaurus shows it as only 62mb of total memory and 32mb of total flash. I sent him an email about it. I hope he will be as communicative as he has been so far. I\'ll keep you updated.

Hi all,

Just got my new Zaurus C-750 this weekend. Out of the box the \"Storage\" tab shows 32768kb total and the \"Memory\" tab shows 62120kb.  From the specs both of them should be 64mb. Any ideas before I hire some Ronin to hunt down my Japanese supplier?

Thx

Cxx0 General discussions / C860 Conversion
« on: May 29, 2004, 01:19:40 am »
Hi,

I am going to purchase my first zaurus, and decided to go with the C860.
Before I complete the transaction....

Where can I find a complete \"how to\" for C860 conversion to English?
Or maybe I should buy a converted system?

Any suggestions/advice will be much appreciated.

Interesting....I got a $685 quote from him...but with no identity checks as wmadan mentioned. I think I am going to wait and see if there are other suppliers I can work with. Price fluctuation is never a good sign.
