Cxx0 Hardware / Restoring Flash Partition To Original Size
« on: January 09, 2006, 12:00:55 am »
I have a c860 I haven't used for a year.  It has cacko 1.21 on it, and I would like to install OPIE/OE.  The install instructions say to restore the flash partition to the original size, but no indication how.  I've searched the web and the forums without enlightenment.  Does anybody know how to get the flash back to the original partitioning, or even better, can someone suggest an optimum size for OE/OPIE and OE/GPE?  Do I have to use the cacko image to change the partition back?

Thanks

General Discussion / Beaming all contacts to palm
« on: June 21, 2004, 06:15:27 pm »
I just got a palm-powered PDA/phone, and would like to beam all my zaurus contacts to it.  I am easily able to beam a single contact.  is there any way to do this in bulk?

Software / Missing addressbook fields;
« on: May 26, 2004, 08:15:52 pm »
I am able to beam my palm addressbook to my C860 (Cacko 1.21a), but since there\'s no pager field, the pager info just gets lost.  Is there any way to add a field?  I bought tkcaddressbook, and installed it, but while it runs, it doesn\'t seem to accept the beamed data.  Also, it didn\'t  \"replace\" addressbook, which was still installed and operational.  Any other suggestions?  Is there an Opie addressbook that will work with the SHARP ROMs?

Sharp ROMs / Restoring original partition size

If you flash Cacko QT, the Cacko installer gives you the chance of repartitioning.
For 1.21, you need about 30MB for RO system, that is all you need to know.
You don\'t have to restore the original config to flash Cacko.

Cacko is explicit about the partitioning requirement (27MB).  That wasn\'t the question.  The question is what is the default configuration.  Evidently neither you nor I know it.  I think that the above info is important to have documented somewhere in English, because Zaurus owners *will* at some point need to know.

Sharp ROMs / Restoring original partition size
« on: May 26, 2004, 12:03:27 am »
Hello,

I bought a c860 with pdaXrom installed.  I want to flash to the SHARP-based cacko- or tkc ROM, but I believe I need to restore the original partitioning of the readonly fs.  Is there any documentation describing:

1) The types of memory within the various zauri
2) How they are partitioned by default
3) How each type/partition is meant to be used
4) How they can be used in practice

This must be a FAQ, but I searching didn\'t turn up the answer, and the FAQ lists are fairly barren.

Thanks,

D

General Discussion / SL-C860 stylus-digitizer weirdness
« on: May 23, 2004, 02:10:00 am »
I just got a C860 with Cacko-1.21a rom.  After a while in use, the digitizer develops \"jitter\" about 1cm about the touch-point along the long axis.  This is severe enough to make the system unusable--wrong icons are selected, etc.  In the handwriting window, touching the screen with the stylus produces a line in the long axis of the screen, about 1cm long, centered at the stylus.  Moving the stylus in the short-axis dimension produces a zig-zag pattern.  Rebooting the system restores the normal behavior.

My first thought was flaky hardware, but since reboot fixes it, I wonder if it could be a driver bug.  Has anyone else with a c860 or c7X0 seen the problem?

Thanks,

Dave
