General Discussion / Possible Yahoo! Mail exploit with NetFront 3
« on: June 20, 2004, 11:48:48 am »
In NetFront click the [Tools] menu and select [Browser Setting].
Click the [Misc] tab.
Click the [Advanced Setting] button.
Click the [Customized User Agent] check box.
Enter \"ie6.0\" in the [User Agent] field text box.
Click [OK] twice.

You should be able to access Yahoo! Mail after clicking [OK] when you get the [Change Address?] dialog box.

General Discussion / Possible Yahoo! Mail exploit with NetFront 3

In NetFront, you will get the screen asking if you want to upgrade your browser.  Click the link to use the old version of Yahoo mail.  When you get the \"Change url Address?\" diagog box, click [Cancel].  Then you can access Yahoo mail.

In Opera, it just works.

I like and dislike features (or lack thereof) in both browsers.  Opera seems to be a little more up to date, but I like the simplicity of NetFront.

Cxx0 General discussions / C860 keyboard stops responding problem
« on: June 15, 2004, 12:12:52 am »
My 860 would freeze when I tried to view an SD card full of pictures from my camera.  Fortunately, I have the Cacko 1.21b rom with memory management app running.  I created a 32M swap file on my CF card and no longer have any problems.

I would try creating a swap file on an SD or CF card manually, or better yet, flash to the latest Cacko ROM.

Accessories / Prefered SD card

I have had intermittent problems with Sandisk SD cards.  Once I bought a Panasonic, I never had problems again.  Panasonic probably spent the most pushing the (well, their) standard so it\'s not surprising that their cards have strict qc.

Of course, your mileage may vary.

6000 - Tosa / can I change the screen rotate direction?
« on: May 23, 2004, 11:29:42 am »
I also mapped one of the other keys to perform the screen rotation.  The rotation will occur faster than having to hold down the backlight key.

6000 - Tosa / Screen protectors

I used the Boxwave screen/p for the Toshiba Genio 550.  The Genio also has a 4\" screen, but I had to trim 1mm from each side.

It is not perfectly crystal clear.  Stops glare; I can turn off the backlight and read the screen in direct sunlight.

Like all s/p, increases the amount of pressure required to activate the digitizer.

I\'d rate it 4.5 out of 5.
