After flashing a new rom you have do the erase to get rid of the old info - especially if you change roms

Go to the flash menu and choose erase/format  to clear the user flash ram

My System menu is in japenese. What is the sequence? I have a SL-C860.

I am trying to reinstall OZ 3.3.6-pre1 on my Zaurus C860 because I am having problems now with my Wireless card and might have screwed up something when trying to install some bluetooth drivers.

When flashing back OZ it doesn\'t seem to completely reinstall everything. I can still see data from my previous session. As my wireless is still not working I am wondering if that might be a reason. BTW dmesg gives me that error:

Ever heard about opie-mail3 ? pop3, imap, pop3+ssl, imap+ssl. Oh and nntp is under construction.

Yes I saw it and it seems great. But my understanding is that I need Opie 1.1.3 which I this point I am not sure I want to try yet. I am traveling overseas next week and I need a working PDA. I already went from Sharp ROM, to pdaxrom to OZ.

Has anybody any experience with OZ 3.3.6-pre1 with Opie 1.1.3? Should I give it a try? Will it work better than what I have now?

Hi,

How do you create multiple 802.11b profile in network settings, some with WEP, some with not, some with DHCP some with static IP addresses.

Basically what I would like is to pre-create those profiles and when I plug my Wifi card to be presented with a choice or if possible directly set in the appropriate profile.

Hi,

Strangely the right shift key doesn\'t shift but the left does. Also I haven\'t find a way to use composite keys like ctrl-c, alt-v ... apart from using the onscreen keyboard. Could the 2 unused japanese keys on the left of the space be used for CTRL and ALT?

How do you access function keys, like F1, F2 ... ?

The slash \"/\" is set to the unshift key which is different from what the keyboard shows. (I actually like this one but it is confusing). Also how do I access the back tick (`)

Locking into CAPS doesn\'t seem to work. On my keyboard it should be FN+TAB.

The screen brightness keys don\'t work as well. On my keyboard it should be FN+3 (down) or FN+4 (up). Same for zoom

Shortcuts on right side of screen don\'t work as well. However the shortcut keys work well.

Don\'t get me wrong. I really like OZ. I am just reporting some problems I am having.

Hi,

I have a lot of lock ups with QtMail on OZ 3.3.6-pre1. I makecompat QtMail but it is almost unusable. (also the synchornize doesn\'t seem to work correctly. deleted emails on server don\'t get remove from my Inbox).

 Is there another IMAP ready email reader I could use on OZ? What everybody else is using? It seems that I have a lot of lock ups with programs that were made compatible (for example Opera 7.05) with oz-ompat 0.5. But again, those are the 2 programs I use the most apart from Konsole.

Just installed OZ and really like it. I am still missing some softwares that I had on the Sharp ROM that I cannot live w/o. Any help is appreciated in getting me up and running ASAP. I am traveling overseas soon

OpenZaurus/Opie/Qtopia / Problem booting 3.3.6-pre1 with Date

Hi,

My C860 has a problem booting in Opie. The desktop loads up correctly but an information window pops up telling me that the system date doesn\'t seem to be valid. The problem is I cannot get rid of that window. The stylus or keyboard don\'t seem to work. I am going to try to boot from the command line and set the date but wanted to report that problem.

Any idea where I could find a web browser for this version of OZ installed on my C860. I tried the konqueror from 3.3.5 stable but it crashes at startup witn an undefined symbol: _20t.ibeamCursor

Sharp ROMs / Cacko Zaurus Qtopia ROM 1.21 is available!

I am a new owner of a C860 from Dynamism. I am trying different ROM to find the one I like the best or maybe have a multiboot option. I am very familiar with Linux on the desktop but newbie in regards to PDA and right now I am confused by all the different ROMS. I flashed pdaxrom on the C860 and like it very much. I would like now to try OZ but can\'t find any instructions on how to either restore Sharp ROM and/or install OZ. Also I am confused about all the different ROM names. For example in this thread is mentioned Cacko (is this pdaXrom?), conics web site, Opie, OZ, maslovky?

How can I go from pdaXrom back to Sharp ROM or directly to OZ? Any help greatly appreciated
