6000 - Tosa / Making Angstrom Work On Tosa

OK...files have changed, thus the instructions have changed.  I have updated the tosa install wiki to reflect this.
I have been looking around and thus far have not been able to find the tosa install wiki.  Could you please direct me to where that may be?  I have checked the wiki off of www.angrstom-distribution.org and haven't found it there unless it is buried under a couple of different levels.

Thanks!

I have noticed the above as well.

I am having a problem setting up the wireless network.  I go into the network settings via the gui and try to configure.  There isn't any option for ssid, encrypt, etc.  Does it all have to be done via the console?

OH, I may have to try one of those out.  If it works I'll be ebaying my archos.

Hubcapboy I purchased my mini a to mini b cable from blackbox.com.  It works well.

I am using the zports libSDL but compiled my own SDL-mixer so I could have ogg support in playing Exult.

I have Dr Z and it works decently for me.

I am currently trying to get mplayer to work well as I would prefer to have my audio encoded in ogg format.

Mplayer works but it only displays in a small window (the size of about 1/8th of the screen) no matter the build or options i have used thus far.

I wonder if my Goldx cable is faulty not letting enough power to the hdd.  I am getting a usb mini a to mini b cable and going to try that out.

I'd love it to be powered by the zaurus.

Software / Mplayer plays movie in a small screen on SL-6000L
« on: August 26, 2004, 11:52:14 am »
cmisip,

I have tried your .ipk and I compiled one of my own and they both have the same output as the 0.93pre10 version.  It plays in a small window in the upper left hand corner.

If i use the -fs switch then it plays in a small window in the middle of the screen.

I guess I dig a bit deeper.  Thanks for your informative web site and I am confident I'll get this worked out.  I am curious if others that have the C series with the 640x480 screen has this problem as well.

Steve

I tried your ipkg and get the following erros when trying to install.

# ipkg install mplayer-1.0pre5-5600-1.ipk
Segmentation fault
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
Unpacking mplayer-1.0pre5-5600-1.ipk...Segmentation fault
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

zcat: stdin: unexpected end of file
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors
ipkg_install_file: ERROR unpacking data.tar.gz from mplayer-1.0pre5-5600-1.ipk

I get errors as well if I try to untar it using tar.

# tar xzvf mplayer*
./control.tar.gz
./data.tar.gz

I installed MPlayer .90pre10 with ogg vorbis support.

No matter what settings I try to make the screen bigger it always plays in the upper left hand corner of my Z.  I have thought of trying to recompile mplayer  with tremor support (for ogg vorbis) but not sure where to look to have it not stick in the upper left hand corner all the time.

Any ideas where to start looking or forums to browse?

Thanks

lwong,

In using the Archos 20GB HDD do you use it without any external power?  I plug mine in and dmesg complains of errors saying that maybe i have a bad cable.  If it plug it into a powered hub then I am able to use it without problems.

This drive isn't much use as a portable media if I have to have external power for it all the time.

Had mine since the end of May.  The screen blows me away every time I turn it on.  Especially if I have been using the 5600 for a bit.

Did you use a cross compiler to compile it?  Or did you compile directly on the Zaurus?

Well, it never fails.  Look forever for an answer for a problem before asking here on the forum and then not 10 mintues later I find the answer.  I was at the wrong section of the website and the wrong version of zynergy.  This is the correct place to go. Different place, right info.

Sorry to bother and hopefully others will learn from my time.

I tried reformatting and repartitioning without any success.  I have no problems using this card in my 6000L.

Any ideas on what to try next?

Does the Zynergy Rom require a different updater.sh than what comes with the Sharp stock Roms?

If so where do I get it?  It wasn't included in the package from Zynergy.

I tried installing the Zynergy Rom and it appeared to install but after I do the reset a second time to format it just sits on the Sharp screen with a blinking cursor.
