General Discussion / USB/car charger question
« on: September 23, 2004, 12:23:05 pm »
I think Kic is talking about something like this

(sorry for the UK links but thats where I am)

http://www.shirtpocket.co.uk/cat/product_i...?products_id=59
to plug a USB charger in to.

although I'd be tempted to get it as part of a kit like this one
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=5124164440

which is advetised for use with the Zaurus.
at the end of the day do you want to risk trashing it for the sake of a few pounds (or $'s)

I followed the "IrDA on a cellphone How-To "
From the ppp/connect-errors log it looks like it is dialing, finding the modem at the other end and connecting but it hangs up before the authentication.  Any clues / pointers.

abort on (NO CARRIER)
abort on (NO DIALTONE)
abort on (BUSY)
send (+ATZ^M)
expect (OK)
+ATZ^M^M
OK
 -- got it

I managed to get a dialup connection to my ISP when I forst got my sl550 (origonal sharp rom) but have not managed it since I upgraded to 3.10 rom.

Is it just me or are other people having a problem?

I can get it to dial but I get no connection...

Acording to the manual (or was it the quick start guide) the 5500 has a builtin backup battery. So your data/programs etc should be fine.

Assuming the backup battery is working and charged

Oh great I have a G card. I'd seen people mention that the socket worked fine unless you have a revG.
Well, I downloaded & installed the apps as sugested and other than needing to do a restart on the Bluetooth & pcmcia, things are working OK. I can live with that

Thanks.

Now to get it syncing with outlook.

Thanks for the reply. I supose I'll just have to wait till the HowTo's are back

(typical that it goes down just when I need it most.....)

Im having trouble getting my Socket bluetooth running,
I folowed:

OOPs I've just read the first line.

Maybe I'll try that instruction first?

I'll post this anyhow just incase any one knows some thing else I need to do...

bluez-utils-2.7
bluez-kernel-2.4.18-mh14
