Sharp ROMs / Problem with Flashing to OPIE ROM
« on: August 22, 2003, 02:04:47 am »
Thanks,
I will check that forum out.

Do you mean Opera was installed before you flashed your unit with the custom ROM? I have my 750 from Trisoft.de and not from Dynamism. Maybe the ROMs are different?
If you got Opera with installing the custom ROM, maybe I should try again.
Greetings,

John

Also I can\'t find a lot of the applications that are mentioned: Konsole, etc. Is this because I have a CL-750?

By the way I saw you have the Ooera browser on your zaurus CL-760, how did you do that. I can only find it for the 5500 series

Greetings,

John

Yes I just figured out that the reboot problem is because the OPIE ROM is for the CL-700, not the 750.
The custum build ROM by Sash looks great, but now Netfront stopped working \"Netfront can only run on an Zaurus 750 models\"

Thanks,

I just tried to flash my CL-570 with the OPIE image using the CF updater.
Everything goes fine untill in the
--- Zaurus CF updater --- menu the device hangs after the following message:
---              Finish!          ---
Rebooting
INIT: Switching to runlevel: 6
INIT: Sending processes the TERM signal
Rebooting the system…

I read the Zaurus should reboot itself, but I waited for several hours and nothing happened. What\'s more....After I took out the battery and did it back in, the device did nothing...
It took me several days and a lot of help from Trisoft (Germany) to restore a NAND Backup using the D+M key combination.

Does someone know what I am doing wrong?

I use a FAT formatted CF card and the Zaurus CF updater writes the kernel and system files with succes.

Thabks
John
