Angstrom & OpenZaurus / OZ 3.5.1 SSHd restrictions?
« on: September 29, 2004, 04:46:49 pm »
Just flashed the Opie Image on my 5500, and I'm very impressed.  I especially like the fact that if found my Intel PRO/Wireless 2011B CF card, without any tweaking.  I want to get in and start messing around, but something with SSHd is not quite happy.  I get a good handshake but my Z kills the connection when I put in the password.  I assume there's a setting that says root can't login, or to restrict access to certain hosts/networks, but I can't seem to find it.  Any Ideas?

Accessories / How to tell if SD is flakey?

FYI,

A response in another forum, pointed me to a new sd/mcc module available in the downloads section of this website.  It works like a charm.  Suspend and Resume work great, and I'm a happy camper.

Awesome Teletubbie! The new module works like a charm.  I was worried that I'd have a kernel/module mismatch or something, but I went ahead and overwrote the the sharp module and everything is peachy now.

Accessories / How to tell if SD is flakey?

I just got a sl-5500 off of e-bay, and I'm really having fun with it.   I've flashed every rom that I can get my hands on and I think I like OZ 3.3.5 the best. I bought a Kingston 512mb SD card so that I could move  /opt and /home off of flash and have lot's of room for applications.

I was able to move said directories over to the SD card and link then to the root on the flash and everything works fine, as long as I don't go into suspend...  If I do that and start up again, the Zaurus can't see the diretories that I moved to the SD card, and basicly nothing works. If I reboot then everything will work up until a suspend.

Does this sound like a flakey SD card, or am I doing something fundamentally wrong?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / SD Problems on OZ

I was hoping some one has run into this before.  I'm running 3.3.5, and I followed the instructions to copy /opt /home and /root to a Kingston 512mb SD card.  Everything works fine, as long as I don't go into suspend.  When I start back up nothing really works anymore, and I get application errors and the like.  Networking is still working and I can use ssh to look what is going on.  It doesn't seem like the sd card is coming back as it should.  Here's the output of the ls command on the /mnt/card directiory after coming back from a suspend:

# cd /mnt/card
# ls
ls: ./lost+found: Input/output error
ls: ./home: Input/output error
ls: ./root: Input/output error
ls: ./doit: Input/output error
opt

If I reboot, everything will come back up again and work fine untill I hit suspend again.  If I just hit the power switch i'll get fsck on boot-up fixing problems with /mnt/card.

Anybody got a quick fix, or do I have a sub-optimal SD card?

Thanks in Advance

Ryland
