Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Fixes For 3.5.4 / Tosa (6000 Models)
« on: April 30, 2006, 10:30:19 am »
Hey trichmon,

i build a 2.6 tosa image to test some things out. But only bootstrap works "probably".

The touchscreen (in GPE or OZ) isn't working correct for me (i don't know if it should?) and suspend and resume doesn't work either.

So you won't be happy with an image. If you really want to try post me a pm, but be sure you will reflash in a hour ;-)

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Where Can I Buy A Zaurus In Germany
« on: April 14, 2006, 07:42:21 am »
Hey,

you have different options. The SL-5500G (German) isn't sold anymore, so you have to buy it used in ebay ... !
I have sold my old 5500 on ebay half year ago. There should be some offers over the time.

The SL-6000 was sold by trisoft (www.trisoft.de) but isn't anymore. Trisoft has only newer models. I bought my SL-6000L in USA in ebay.com. Very nice contact and with paypal np with payment.

The best option and cheapest, i think, is to buy via pricejapan.com. Look here in the forum for experiences.

Or you try http://www.linuxontour.de/ and make a wtb (wantToBuy)thread.

If you have more questions you can PM me in german!

For more information look at the openzaurus-mailinglist:

Software / Kino 0.4.1
« on: February 09, 2005, 05:16:15 am »
Hello,

would it be possible to port the kino2 GUI to opie? I would like to have a good mediaplayer in Openzaurus.
Or is it possible to run kino2 under OZ with opie?

Thx Bedman

Guylhem Rom / fast 6000 kernel, along with special libsdl
« on: February 01, 2005, 02:19:12 am »
My intention is that the differences between Cxxx models and 6000 models isn't that much. So we can participate from the great work of Richard (se my link) and should only customize the 6000 specific settings.
I think when the 2.6 Kernel is available for all Zaurus models all Custom-Roms will jump on this train, i think/hope ;-)

Software / New Optimized Mplayer For Pxa25x-based Zaurus Mode
« on: January 31, 2005, 03:20:19 pm »
Hey,

would it be possible to make a version for the 6000? It will be the same as for the Cxxx models but without optimization for the Ati w100.

Thx

Guylhem Rom / fast 6000 kernel, along with special libsdl
« on: January 31, 2005, 03:16:11 pm »
Hello all,

i have one question.
The 2.6 Kernel will come to the Zauri. But till now only for 5xxx and Cxxx models, but not for the 6000.
Wouldn't it be much better to get the 2.6 Kernel done on the 6000 and do the optimizations to that Kernel.
So here is the question to you geeks. Would you port the 2.6 Kernel to the 6000L.
Here is the status off the current porting: http://www.rpsys.net/openzaurus

Thx for taking this in consideration

Software / Qpdf / Ztrans ... Again
« on: January 20, 2005, 07:14:25 pm »
HEy,

it's not necessary to have oz-compat to run qpdf2!!

Just install qpdf2 from the OZ-3.5.2 feeds under www.openzaurus.org

Then start qpdf2 with "qpdf -d0" thats all!

Much fun

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Howto: Oz 3.5.2 On Sl-6000l
« on: January 02, 2005, 08:38:07 am »
Hello and happy new year!

I have one question about OZ/Opie on a SL-6000L.

Is there an opportunity to zoom the apps to 480x640 (640x480). Many Application works great but are very small, like xmms or opiemediaplayer2 (the skin window).

Thx for the answers

6000 - Tosa / Looking For A Good Hardware Combinaison
« on: December 08, 2004, 05:38:57 am »
Hey,

as far as i know, you didn't need a CF-Card for Flashing. You could also flash from a sd-card via Service-Menu.
I don't know exactly but on my old SL-5500 were no speed increasments from fast sd-cards. But it could be that there is a new SD-Controller in the SL-6000 which support higher Speed.
Till now no SDIO (Devices in SD-Slot) driver is available for the SL-6000 so no devices could be used through sd-slot.

I hope i could help and you understand my english ;-)

6000 - Tosa / OpenZaurus, OZ on the 6000
« on: December 08, 2004, 05:33:25 am »
Hey BarryW,

it looks like there are missing sym-links. First try to dl. the upgrades from the upgrades feed especially the service-upgrade. Then open the console and type "ipkg-link mount /mnt/card" and restart opie!
That should work. What have you installed on the sd-card?

6000 - Tosa / Z6000W ac adapter
« on: November 11, 2004, 01:22:08 pm »
Hey Razzle,

i think it should work without problems. I received my 6000L a week ago and used the AC-Part which is directly connected to the 6000L with the power-cord of the SL-5500. No Problems so far.
I only have to buy a new  power-cord which should be a standard and available everywhere!

Bye Bedman

OK du kannst mir per PM bescheid geben! :-)

6000 - Tosa / OpenZaurus, OZ on the 6000
« on: November 03, 2004, 03:56:52 pm »
Thx now it works. I just reflashed Sharp ROM and after being aware that this ROM still sux ;-) I flashed back to OPIE and all works perfectly. OK some error here and there but not big ones.
I changed the /mnt/ram in fstab to /dev/mtdblock3 and my home to tmpfs. (what is this???) So i have 32MB more space.

The Errors i came across:

the german Display Keyboard is bigger than the screen (in portrait).

there are some graphical errors (like said in the Mailing List)

and the performance of the display is not very good (very slow scrolling)

And last but not least one more question:

Where is the switch to mute the speaker? Or is the speaker mute when Headphones plugged in?

Thx Bedman

6000 - Tosa / OpenZaurus, OZ on the 6000
« on: November 02, 2004, 07:40:52 pm »
Hey,

i'm new to the SL-6000L, also i used a SL-5500 long time before. Some questions for the Opie-Img:

1. Why do i get everytime an error if i download a package from a feed (tosa feed or 3.5.1 feed as well) The Error is "invalid magic". I use opie-aqpkg and tried opie-packagemanager too. The command line version of ipkg writes the same Error message.

2. On SL-5500 i used /mnt/ram to install my packages. On the SL-6000 /mnt/ram is a tmpfs and /home seems to be the place to install packages on the Zaurus. The problem is that ipkg-link did not recognize /home correctly. What can i do?

Thx for the helping and for ignoring my grammar errors ;-)
