Hi Meanie,
some times ago you mentioned a automounter-lite-package for all the device which have no usb-host. Where can we find this package. I tried to google through the hole zaurus world, but I could'nt find it.

Yeh, it was pretty cool back when I worked on it, but I have not seen it recently.
I can't say too much obviously.  I flipped a few folks out there when I showed
them SavajeOS running on my SL-5500 though (although not natively).

RCP and eRCP are high considered development projects of the eclipse org. There is a big need to port that to linux pda and I hope they will ported very soon. I found the following link about this issue and eSWT :

The thing with the E680i is that it has no dial-pad either. Its a pain to have to dial using the soft-dialpad all the time. I thing the A780 rectified this problem by including the flip cover with the keys on it.I understand though that both do support voice dial - yeah, but what about those un-stored numbers. Maybe its just me - but a phone wihtout a dial-pad is not complete, just as a PDA without a keypad (like the Zaurus) is not complete.  ;-)

I bought a E680i a few month ago. I don't think, that it's really a pain to work with the soft dial pad. The handwriting and the soft pads of the E680i are really good and you can quickly edit SMS, mails, small notes etc. I enjoy this phone, but for effective use I need more support. What's with new or alternative firmware and how can can I implement it from a linux host. What about a SDK, which runs on my Linux PC or even on the ZAURUS and supports J2ME and C++?

Thanks for your hints. It seem that my DLINK-Card runs, but I don't get any connection. I think I have consider all your hints, but perhaps I made some mistakes with my hostap_cs.conf

All other lines I removed.

In the Setting I enabled under TabbedPanel Config" Non-Spec ESS-ID:"ANY"

After pressing the button "connect", I get a connect but a ping etc does not work. How can I debug the whole procedure? Perhaps you have an idea. Thank you

Cacko 1.22 is great, but I have to much changed in my hostap_cs.conf.
I am not able to connect with my D-Link-card, even I tried to change everythink as discussed before.

I have the same DLINK/Zcomax error... will try commenting out other entries now and see what happens.

Update: It worked... i'm online now... sweet!

Please send the hostap_cs.conf or publish it here.

First of all. Thanks for this great distribution. I used cacko 1.21b and was very pleased. Now I use the new version. It looks good. I have the same problem with me WLAN-card D-Link DCF-660W.

This card should be supported. Please, check /etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf file, find entry for your card and check if contains correct card info (get it with cardctl ident)

cardctl ident shows
[CODE]product info: "D-Link", "DCF-660W",""
manfid 0xd601,0x0005
function:6 (network)
But in the dard applet it is shown as Zcomax XI-325H ....
I tried to change the /etc/pcmcia/hostap_cs.conf and removed the remark at the manfid line of this card. But it didn't change anythink.

Here you can find mire informations about java vm's, which run on the Zaurus. Perhaps Blackdown is an alternative. I didn't try it.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Java questions

Hi,
Jeode and PP4Zaurus only work with QT based roms. So you can not develope GUI-programms with them under the pdaXrom. There are other alternatives. One is jamvm, which comes with the gnu classes. If you are able to compile them for the pdaXrom, you can use them with the pdaXrom. I tried it earlier this year and was able to compile jamvm directly on the zaurus. But I was not able to compile these gnu classes on the top of jamvm. Perhaps it is now much easier. You will find jamvm at sourceforge.

you have to define a classpath like this:
evm -classpath DocReader.jar ....DocReader

I don't think that evm supports the features of JAVA2
