Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Dillo
« on: June 01, 2005, 11:40:00 pm »
I have been trying to get Dillo installed on my sl-5500 for about a day now, and it is being a little stubborn.  I installed all the dependencies, and I am still getting one dependency error.

Error while loading shared libraries: libXi.so.6: cannot open shared object file:  No such file or directory.

Fantastic, where the hell do I get libXi.  I cannot find it on these forums, not even a mention of it.

Thanks in advance

Actually, no.  If you must know, I am trying to get on a WEP network at work.  We have tons of wireless routers in the building, and they WEP protect them all, and I want to get on them.

Thanks

Security and Networking / Captured Packets

Ok, I have been using Wellenreiter for a week or so know, and I have tons of captured packets.  I have been using Ethereal to decode them and look at them, but I don't really like it's interface.  Probably from my lack of knowledge with the software.  At anyrate, are there any other programs out there that accomplish the same task?  What do you guys use?

Any info would be great, thanks in advance.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Wellenreiter Lockups?
« on: February 03, 2005, 01:14:42 pm »
Yea Dino, I am having the same problem.  I also have the exact same network card as you, that netgear, and I have Wellenreiter installed on my SD also.  I am guessing it is the SD causing the problems, because it seems to happen more when tons of packets are being captured.

Also, dino do you notice that the netgear kills your battery or is it just me?

Thanks if anyone finds a solution to this.

Security and Networking / Ssh Problems

Ok, putty did the trick.  I wonder why the ssh client from ssh.com doesn't work, but oh well.  Also, I am having a new problem, this time with opera 7.3.

I read this thread https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showt...92;.shared_null

and that guy had similiar problems, but the solution did not work for me.

I tried the ipkg-link, then I tried this
ln -s /opt/QtPalmtop/opera /usr/share/opera
and it said that that link was already in place, and I am still getting the same error message

root@collie:/mnt/card/opt/QtPalmtop/bin#  symbol lookup error: opera: undefined symbol: _7QString.shared_null

thanks

I get that message when I try to use the ssh client from ssh.com; using putty (or ssh under Linux) all works fine, I'd be interested to know what's causing the error though.

Cool thanks man, I will try that, because I am using the client from ssh.com.  I will try putty and let you know what happens.

Security and Networking / Ssh Problems
« on: January 24, 2005, 12:33:57 am »
Hey guys,

I have a good one for you.  I just re-flashed to the new oz 3.5.2 with the opie environment, and I am having a hell of a time ssh-ing into the zaurus from my desktop.  I asked a friend of mine locally and he recommended setting a password for root.  I did that (passwd in console) and that still didn't work.  So then I tried to install all of the ssh packages under package manager.  I installed them all to the SD card, and still I cannot ssh into the machine.

When I try to, through secure shell on my XP machine, I type in the zaurus' ip address, root for the username and hit connect.  Then, I think it connects, and asks me for a password.  Now, I try the password that I changed the root password too, and hit ok, as soon as I hit OK a screen comes up and says:

 "Server responded connection closed:
the connection to the remote host was lost.  This usually means the network connection has terminated or that the remote host computer was rebooted.  Most network outages are short, so trying again may help."

Well, ssh is full of shit, because trying again doesn't help at all.

Someone help,

THanks

Software / XMMS problems
« on: October 23, 2004, 01:40:11 am »
I am trying to install XMMS-E. It used to work on my Z but I have not used it in a while, went to use it this evening, and it won't play. Tried re-installing it, and now I get this error message

Anyone know a quick and easy fix to this. The reason I say quick and easy is because I have a flight in the morning, and I really want to use the Z as an MP3 player, and don't have a lot of time in the morning. Also, are there any XMMS alternatives that are easy to use and quick to install?

Thanks in advance

p.s.   I just figured something out, OZ doesn't have that feed up anymore. They just released 3.5.1 and my Z still refers to the old stable feed "/official/stable/feed" Does anyone know where they moved this to?

Thanks again

Software / Kismet Help
« on: August 22, 2004, 01:36:57 pm »
Need some help with the Kismet install.  I tried to follow the walkthrough on http://www.timekiller.org/howtos/kismet-5600.html and on irongeek.com.  Both of them do not mention the problems I am having.  After trying to install  kismet_2.8.1-1_armv4l-strongarm.ipk I got the dependency error for libstdc++2.10-glib2.2.  I found an ipk of that, then when trying to install it I got yet another damn dependency error wanting libc6 (>= 2.2.5-13).

My question is where the hell do I get that, and can I get just one ipk with all of these dependencies in it?  Anyone else had this problem?

I am counting on you lardman to come through for me on this one,

Thanks again guys

Are any of you guys familiar with GAIM? I installed it fine, but whenever I try to connect, a little progress bar at the bottom goes to 100% really quickly, then nothing happens.

Thanks

General Discussion / Newbie linking problems

Hey guys, I need some help here, and I am sorry that I am a real newb at this.

I tried to install these three files:
Konqueror
xmms
zetherel (spelling)

they all gave me linking errors but Konqueror works, and the other two don't.  XMMS opens, but doesn't play anything, and zetherel doesn't even load.

I attached the errors that it gave me under the package manager.

Someone please help me.  I understand how linking works, but I don't understand what to link to what.

Thank you
