Cresho: if you cold provide detailed info on how to setup Ambicom BT2000-CF that would be great. I have the BT card as you mentioned  - made in Taiwan but for the half year I had it I could not find a decent explanation on how to set it up on my SL-5600 (poodle) with OZ 3.5.3 installed. It could be perhaps to some missing packages such as bt950_cs as mentioned by some people who have it working. Most of the information out there unfortunately is by early adopters for their SL-5500 which is not relevant to my case.

WIll appreciate any input.

Thanks

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / 3.5.2 Upgrades
« on: February 14, 2005, 09:38:33 am »
Quote
after 3.5.2 we splitted irk 0.11 to two packages:
irk 0.11-belkin
irk 0.11-targus

one is original upstream, other is patched

Is there a package that will work with the original pocketop keyboard, because for the life of me I can't get it to work on my SL-5600.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Nees NAND backup file for sl-5600
« on: December 07, 2004, 12:10:16 am »
Thanks Mickey,

Will be carefull in the future with the NAND backups, but it worked for me fine.

I have obtained a clean NAND backup for sl-5600 PXA-250 from one of the ZUG users and was able to restore my Z .

Afterwards I finally figured out my problem. What happened was that I have somehow placed OZ zImage instead of the tkcRom's zImage (the one I am using now). This resulted in this peculiar situation where I was getting half of each and neither was complete enough to function.

Thanks all for your input.

Poland / klawiatura pocketop i OZ 3.5.1
« on: November 15, 2004, 10:33:11 am »
I heard that you can get  Pocketop to work on OZ 3.5.1 by restoring your old OZ 3.3.5 backup onto 3.5.1. It seems to be a config file error withing OZ 3.5.1

Best luck

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Cannot Remove OZ 3.5.1 or use Pocketop
« on: November 15, 2004, 10:25:25 am »
I have looked further into this and I have found that there is difference between plugins   that are used in different versions. OZ 3.5.1 is missing some from prior versions, or that of Sharp/tKC roms where IRK works.

The plugin directories that I am talking about are:

/usr/QtPalmtop.rom/plugins/inputmethods/
 /home/QtPalmtop/plugins/inputmethods/

If some one could provide some insights into this problem this would be greatly appreciated by all Pocketop usrs, including me.

Thanks for the findings oninitdialog. This is great news for me. Now only if somebody could provide me with the link for OZ 3.3.5, since I myself could not find any links to it to try for myself.
In any case thanks again and I'll try to find that config difference if I ever get my hands on OZ 3.3.5 rom

User Request for Applications / How long does a NAND backup take?

On my PXA-250 OZ 3.5.1 it takes about 2 - 3 minutes for complete NAND at about 64MB
in size.

Sharp ROMs / How to flash Sharp ROM after OpenZaurus - errors
« on: November 01, 2004, 03:46:32 pm »
I can't tell you why Sharp Rom won't reflash in your case, but I can tell you that Sharp Rom 1.32 did the job for me.

Although in my case I prefer to use tkcRom 2.0, but after I reflash I still get the openzaurus login prompt for some reason and it won't boot past that. I think that OZ somehow repartitions flash, and it causes other roms not to flash properly. I still am trying to figure out how to reflash back to tkc.

for some reason even a complete NAND Restore does not get rid of the OZ login prompt!!!, which seems to be beyond my understanding, due to the fact that NAND supposed to erease everything.

I have "bricked" my Z while reflashing it. Now it won't even boot or anything.
Can any one please help me obtain a working copy of a full nand backup for the pxa-250 sl-5600.
Thanks

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Cannot Remove OZ 3.5.1 or use Pocketop
« on: October 27, 2004, 12:39:53 pm »
I have tried to install OSPACK on my Z 5600, and then reflashed it with tkcRom, but regardless of that I still get the same problem of openzaurus login. Is there a way to remove that login, perhaps manually mounting the rom disk where it's at and removing it that way?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Cannot Remove OZ 3.5.1 or use Pocketop
« on: October 26, 2004, 11:32:36 pm »
I am having some difficulties with OZ 3.5.1. At first its an amazing improvement over OZ 3.2, but I can't get my pocketop to work with it. When I try to reflash my Z with kcRom2 I still get an OZ login prompt and it refuses to boot.
I'd like to keep OZ, but I want to use my Pocketop keyboard
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks
