wow, that looks nice. what window manager is that?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=80022\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
IceWM, it comes as the default on the pocket workstation debian image, the theme I'm using is kliin. IceWM makes a lot of sense for the Zaurus, since it's lightweight and doesn't require any right/middle clicking.

Can someone post a screenshot of how debian with fbvnc looks like? (it should look the same right?)
I am using it with X/Qt and sometimes via keypebble, but was just wondering what I could gain by using it with fbvnc[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

X/Qt / Icewm Or Other Wm? & Themes Mgmt

ArchiMax, it sounds as though you're doing everything correctly in terms of changing theme. It should just be a matter of selecting the theme and it being applied. I personally use IceWM with pocketworkstation's debian image (using fbvnc) on a c3000 without any problems; perhaps there's something odd about the version you installed?

Meanie, you can just set the value "TaskBarAtTop = 1" in ~/.icewm/preferences. You can change any setting within IceWM without a separate configuration program, they just make it much simpler than having to look up the relevant keywords to set.

- the on/off button does not work. Pressing it does not suspend the device, but rrunning zsuspend does (and after that, the on/off switch *does* unsuspend!)
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=60048\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Link zsuspend to /usr/local/bin/. It's called by fbvnc from outside the chroot when it detects the on/off button being pressed, and since by default it is in /hdd3/debian/usr/local/bin (which isn't in your PATH) it doesn't find it.

For this to be really useful you'd probably need support for the XRandR extention (X Resize and Rotate); otherwise just using Fbvnc's rotation function will leave you with part of your screen unused and part of your display off screen (640x480 displayed in 480x640, so effectively 480x480 viewable).

My C3000 from shirtpocket just arrived!  So it definitely seems they're getting things together again.

General Discussion / Usb Webcam On Zaurus?

You can compile the pwc module under 2.4 (Philips based chipset), which is used in a lot of cameras, including some fairly flashy ones like the Logitech Quickcam 4000 Sphere. I'll be giving this a try when my C3000 arrives.

They said ring back today, and guess what... no answer *again*[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=73609\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
It did take me a few attempts throughout the day to actually get through to someone (sometimes engaged, sometimes just no answer), so you might do well to just try persevering with calling them.

General Discussion / Shirtpocket Troubles?

I just rang them regarding a C3000 I ordered in mid-March; Apparently they should be receiving some by the end of the week and hopefully have them dispatched towards the beginning of next week. From what I heard it sounded like they've been having some problems with the database that drives their website. Very nice to see that everything seems to be getting sorted out .

Anyone have any suggestions (about getting networking working)? [div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=72709\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
usbnet module?

That said, if anyone can explain why I have no modules loaded, that would be interesting.[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=72709\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
Perhaps all the common components are compiled in to the kernel, rather than as modules?

Also, if anyone has any idea how to get a larger font in aterm (I've found out how to change every font but that one) I would really appreciate it.  My eyes are almost 40 years old and the default font is just too darn tiny.[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=72236\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
Edit ~/.Xdefaults and add a line like this:

aterm*font: -*-clean-medium-r-*--14-*-*-*-*-60-*-*

You can use a program like xfontsel to generate X11 font lines in a more user friendly way.

C1000/3x00 Hardware / Hardware Required To Record Voice In C3000

As far as I'm aware the audio out port, can act either as a stereo audio out or as a mono audio out and microphone in.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Openzaurus 3.5.3 Pre-release
« on: March 14, 2005, 06:35:32 pm »
Warns about using an unexpected kernel on boot, then sleeps for a minute, boots fine after that though.

System information still reports being 3.5.2 (I'm fairly sure it flashed the image correctly though, since it has the 3.5.3 feed setup by default as well as the 3.5.3PreRelease kernel).

I managed to break the opie configuration by going in to the timezone setting dialog then pressing back (just shows the background and the next and back buttons, disabled).

Package manager's confirm package list changes dialog is too small, only the tops of the okay/cancel buttons are visible.

But, and for this I will profess my love to you lot, it now wakes up for alarms again, which is something I was greatly missing in 3.5.2.

That's all I've checked so far, will continue playing, seems nice overall though.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Kernel Panic
« on: December 29, 2004, 09:10:06 am »
As far as I'm aware it's only possible to flash the Zaurus using a CF card, not an SD card. If you were in fact using a CF card then check the md5sums of the files you downloaded.
