Hey! I am trying to ger supertux working on my c860, rc11. Installed supertux from feed.

I can start it, and it works fine until I start the actual game. the lading screen hangs, and then quits. When run from a terminal, it produces:

#supertux
Datadir: /usr/bin/ ../share/supertux
Warning: Unable to open file "/home/root/.supertux/config"  for read! ! !
Warning: No joysticks are avalible.

Also, how do you get it to display fullscreen?

PS- How do you get circuslinux to go fullscreen? It is unplayable. (Ot- but same soloution as for supertux I think...)

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Ok, Kde Works; What About Gnome?

You know, all you need for "gnome" is gnome-panel, nautalis, and gnome-volume manager. You start those inside xfce, and if is just like gnome, but faster

(I do it on my desktop)

Y'a know, if you dont need desktop icons, you can just start gnome-panel and it is xfce but with a nicer panel...

Plus the C3100 is MUCH more compatible with more roms thn the c3000. Not enough flash. And the case is ugly....

(I have only a c860- But I want a c3100)

How about same as above, but a 5 gig HD, and a way to use a true bootloader like grub? And flash like the 3100 for compatability? And magnesium casing like the sony clie's....

(Fantasy)

I hear the QQQ is very unstable hardware wise. The flybook, (Little bigger than a DVD case)  looks like a SWEET linux canadite! I want one!

Review with many photos:

I saw it for sale $3000, but with a DVD writer, windows, and 80gig HD. I want this for my HS graduation- in four years the price should be quite reasonable

Wow,

I just tried Xpaint from http://wing.nagaokauniv.ac.jp/wiki/index.php?files
It's wonderful, powerful, fast. A MUST

You need to install libtiff from rc11 feed

FreeNoteQT works very well also

Many thanks to ZDevil for the finding

Neat! Anyone know how to make a desktop icon for matchbox/xfce? You have to start it from the terminal..

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Rc11 On Sl-6000 - Looks Ok So Far!
« on: September 26, 2005, 09:15:11 pm »
C860, but some of these comments were in this thread already.

Frozen bubble doesn't work at all.

Supertux works, but when you try to start the real game, it crashes. (main menu works. Game crashes,)

No nano I can find.

It does look nice though!

Sharp ROMs / C860 And X/qt
« on: September 24, 2005, 05:11:03 pm »
Hi! I am hoping to get X/QT working on my c860. However, after installing the jumbo package, firefox, and abiword, nothing works but Aterm and the Calculator. Abiword complains about not being able to open an image, and firefox about memory. (Both when run from a terminal. Nothing at all happens when starting through the GUI)

I completely trashed my install, (Don't ask...) so I need to reflash. Would a different root size from 27mb help? Installing firefox/abiword to sd? I still need a non sandisc sd. Will a 256 ext2 card work for pocketworkstation/openoffice?

And once I get it running (hopefully) is it possible to install some apps to an ext2 CF card for when I don't need wifi?

Thanks!

Linux Issues / Wich Linux Disto
« on: September 24, 2005, 04:58:47 pm »
Stay FAR FAR AWAY from RPM distros- a total pain.

Debian based distros have the best package manager, in my opinion. I use ubuntu. It also has the best community ever  (Ubuntu)

What is wrong with Slackware?

Accessories / Need A Sd Card/ethernet/keyboard For Z
« on: September 18, 2005, 04:19:47 pm »
I know bluetooth cannot be used on the plane, and that is why I am against it. c860 only has serial. No USB. USB is annoying, because I cannot use it!

For Sale / Wanted / Selling Zaurus Battery
« on: September 17, 2005, 11:41:34 pm »
Hi! I just read this thread. I have been wanting to use my 860 with a small battery for the thickness, and this looks great! Are there any batteries left? What guarentee do you give? (AKA. If battery destroys my Z what would you do?)

Thanks!

Accessories / Need A Sd Card/ethernet/keyboard For Z
« on: September 17, 2005, 07:01:49 pm »
Thanks! I am DEFINATLEY getting the cheap psp pack! Now all I can't figure out are:

2. Ext2/3 SD card. I want debian/xqt. Xqt works for me, but I can't do anything with it but have multiple terminals all open at once. I need a 512 MB+ sd card that can be reliable and somewhat inexpensive? My 256 Sandisc cant even write to the superblock.

3. Keyboard. I need a small foldable nice laptop like keyboard. I have no idea what works. It would be awsome to be wired to the sharp port so it could be used on a plane in turbulence! LONG flights from US-Australia. I do NOT have bluetooth. I am not adverse to DIY projects...

5. Connect to a sony memory stick. I am stuck using a sony camera. Nice, but proprietary. Cf-Ms perhaps?

6. Nice stylus. Best that fits in the pda? Just needs to be a plain stylus.

THANKS!
