Zaurus - pdaXrom / Running X Over The Network

Zaurus:
-set a password for root

- Edit /etc/ssh/sshd_config:
X11Forwarding: yes

on the pc running X:
- ssh -X root@zaurusip

then launch xterm dillo or whatever

I have followed ur instructions, I could ssh into Z, but when I tried to run dillo I got the following error:

I am running this on X11 on my mac
any ideas what cause this?

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Xmms Problem

I just flashed beta 1, my first time using pdaxrom, which looks very nice  

but i ran into problem when i tried to play a mp3 file in xmms

it gave me an error when i play the file: "failed to open audiio output: eSound Output Plugin 1.2.10"

I have no idea what it means, and if i try to play the file again, xmms freeze

Could someone help me plz

I think may be I shouldn't have mkdir the mount-point directory...
b/c without mkdir b4 setup, it works...

can someone explain to me why? plz

ok, i decided to try dev_img 1.6 out, but run into some problem

I hv put the files "dev_img-1.6" & "image_setup.sh" in root of SD card
then I mkdir /mnt/card/mntpt

when I ran ./image_setup.sh /mnt/card/dev_img-1.6 /mnt/card/mntpt
it gives me error

ln: /mnt/card/mntpt/develop: Operation not permitted
Mounting image /mnt/card/dev_img-1.6...
Failed to munt image /mnt/card/dev_img-1.6 on /mnt/card/mntpt

what seems to be the problem?
I am using Cacko 1.22a on a 860,
and it says cacko 1.22 support squashfs, so i don't need to install anything else, right?

hmm... I actually don't know C++, but I know C and Java, will I lose some of the funtionality if I use something other than C++?

Is PyQt easy to use? I have learned a bit of python abt 3yrs ago, and don't really remember anything abt it now

Sharp ROMs / Cacko: Bluetooth Pairing?

I am wondering, is it possible to pair Z with a PC or Mac without creating a PPP or PAN connection?
I am trying to develop a software for cacko which can control stuff on my mac via bluetooth. It would be better if I can connect from Z side, instead of PC or Mac side.

by the way, just want to know, do I still need to install bluez or bluetooth network applet or bluetooth pan network applet on Cacko 1.22a? sorry, haven't touch my z for like 7 months, and was using 1.21.

Qt/Qtopia / Writing Software For My Z C860

I am planning to write some software for my Z (c860), and I am looking into which language I should use. After I read thro some of the doc in Trolltech, I still not quite sure what are the differece between qtopia, qt, qt/e and etc

Could someone please explain to me what are the differeces? And which I should be using if I am running Cacko? What if I am running pdaXrom?

I am using Mac OSX tiger (or winXP if i really have to) and looking for cross-compiling.

b/c i wanna listen to music before i fall into sleep, but i need to make my Z turns off itself after like 1 hour or so.

If I am flashing a new rom, let's say pdaxrom, and suddenly the power got cut off and the battery runs out, what will happen to my Z (c860)?
Will I brick it? Or it will be ok after I flash it again?
