Those posts seem a bit formulaic. As you pointed out, they don't seem to know what this forum is about. Is it possible that the new forum member "Mobipocket" is just a robot that trawls forums for posts about Mobipocket, registers itself, and posts these messages automatically?

So 0.7g can read secure Mobipocket files directly without any offline conversions?

Absolutely *NOT*.

It can read "insecure" mobipocket files without conversion. This is sufficient for Baen, Memoware and Fictionwise multiformat books but not for any DRMed files.

BTW, the official 0.7g release is imminent - I'll announce it here when it goes up at my website.

Please note that you are not allowed to try to read encrypted eBooks in Mobipocket format.

(I note Mobipocket has a Linux version of their reader available for download, but you have to choose from platform-specific package files with nothing explicitly for Zaurus or ARM ('it runs on any platform as long as it's PalmOS').)

In the Mobipocket Reader download page for Mac/Linux, you can download the Reader for PalmOS and Symbian devices.
For PocketPC, you can use the Mobipocket Mobile website.
