Yes, they are very fast shippers.  My C3k was well-packaged though.  Not bent or anything.  They don't do conversions but it's easy to do yourself.

Does updating the rom revert the C3k back to Japanese?

C1000/3x00 General discussions / Bluetooth On The Sl-3000?

Hi-

I recently traded up to a C3k from a C860.  I used the Bluez pkg from this thread to connect the C3k with my Moto V635 (Cingular).  I have successfully paired the two but everytime I try to BT connect from the C3k, I see the BT session starting on the cellphone, but it dies after a minute or so.

How can I debug what's going on?

Thanks in advance!

Software / AAC, MP3 Player
« on: November 11, 2004, 09:01:39 pm »
Are there any audio players available that will play aac and mp3 files?  AAC is the apple encoding format.  I have tons of music on iTunes that I would like to transfer to an sd card and play on my zaurus.  I hate carrying the zaurus and the ipod to work.  I'd much rather just carry the zaurus and listen to music from it on my way to work.

Markedman,

Are you editing the conf file as superuser (su)?  It won't allow you to edit the file if you're not using su.

Software / KDE-Pim/Pi 1.9.10 Release
« on: November 02, 2004, 09:56:24 pm »
Can we have the Ko/Pi calendar application display the current day everytime it's opened?  Whenever I turn on my zaurus, the calendar day displayed is the last one I accessed and not the current day.

Anything I need to set?

Hi Z,

Do I have to uninstall the previous version or this package will automatically overlay the old one?

Thanks!

W.

zautrix,

how come when I click on Calendar or Address Book, they explode but never open?  are they disabled when ko/pi and ka/pi are installed?  The Email program still works.  The only difference I can think of is that ko/pi and ka/pi are fast-loaded and mo/pi is not.  btw, the original Calendar, Address Book and Email are all not fast loaded.

Thanks!

Thanks for the link!

The C3000 looks a lot chunkier than the C860.

General Discussion / Sharp pulls the Zaurus

I never had the need to go to the Sharp support site for information regarding my Zaurus.  This user group together with killefiz.de/zaurus have been my great resource for enjoying my C860!

General Discussion / Zaurus suitable for non-geeks?
« on: October 20, 2004, 03:53:59 pm »
Welcome to the forum, Supperman.

I don't think it will not be advisable to get the Zaurus even though you're a non-Geek, as you would say..hehe.

Sounds like you like to do things on your own.  That's a big plus when dealing with the Zaurus.  Grab a Unix command reference or Unix beginner book as well as a VI editor command list and you're good to go.

I think you will enjoy the Zaurus!

I've had my C860 for the last 2 months.  So, the only thing new is the processor and the built-in drive?  It would have been a compelling pda to upgrade to if it had wifi and bluetooth built-in.

I'm using Linksys WCF12.  It worked right out of the box.
