Hi Bob,

I think it was a sharp rom converted to english, but I am not completely sure... and unluckily I did not make a NAND backup as I discovered the NAND menu just yesterday...
I have a SD card, but what kind of files do I need to find exactly?
do I need to find the file: SYSTC860.DBK  and in the NAND menu, flash from my SD card where I have the file?

I have made a NAND CheckSum, and it seems there is a problem with ROFLSYS and PRESET as the Sum1 puts NG instead of OK, and at the end, Master Ver1.40 67b4 NG
I do not undestand this things but maybe it sounds familiar to you...

hi,

thanks for your answer, but the problem is more completed, as the Zaurus does not start, and so my pc does not recognize it. I have tried to format it, but unsuccessfully.... I used the soft reset (unlock battery, then FN+Home and re-lock the battery) then Ok+on/off and a menu appears (in japanese) with possibility to check OS and to format the zaurus. But it did not change anything, the zaurus is still blocked on the 1st screen ('Shibaraku O matchi Kudasai' please wait for a while)... and I wait all the night... I do not think the formatting would be so long, so I concluded it did not work either... I am afraid the last and only possibility is to send it back to Sharp... I do not know how I could have broken the OS as I did not remove any file I did not know.

unluckily I just have a PC under Windows XP.
When the pda has blocked I had just installed Opera 7. And I was trying to remove it as it did not work. but I could not uninstall it, and after the pda blocked up.
I have tried to remove the battery and put it again, many times, but it did not change anything...

I do not understand "setting ssh or telnet" as my pda is not connected to a network. In fact I am not sure the line where I can enter text is really a prompt line as when I enter text nothing happen, it just disappear when I type "enter".

Hi,

I recently bought a Zaurus SL C860, with English OS installed, and after some months without trouble, the PDA began to block suddenly and I had to remove the battery and put it again, to make it work again. This time it has not started again and stay on the first page where it is written to wait for a while (in Japanese of course). At the bottom of the page, there is a black line where we can enter commands from the keyboard, but I could not succeed with any command like shutdown -r now, or other...

If someone has already faced such a problem and/or knows how to solve it, I would be glad !
