Any chance of someone doing a pdaXrom build?

I am not yet smart enough to do one myself

Hi,

You could use Portabase compiled for pdaxrom.  It has built-in encryption and password protection.

Search the zug feeds for it.

Dan
Thank for that Dan!

I installed it, by hand  ipkg install filename - cool

Now for the dummy question!

How do I integrate it in the X-menu system so I dont have to launch in from Aterm?

Thanks

I use a program called eWallet on the pc.

It allows you to keep Credit card details, passwords and junk like that safe from the bad guys.

Is there such a thing available for use with the wonderful pdaXrom?

Yes

But I am looking for a generic solution, where you need to read and fill in bits of the Dialog that are not visible.

Using the <rotate> sometimes helps, and sometimes you can drag the dialogs a little.

But there has to be a better way?

Guys

X-Windows isnt too happy with the Z's 640x480 screen and when I was installing Gimp, I had this HUGE dialog on the screen.  I was trying to navigate around the dialow with little success, wondering how may <tab>s to get the the [Continue] button

Is there some elegent way of moving a dialog on the screen, or maybe a virtual screen with scrolling?

i have got it working no problem  -- could you be out of space thunderbird is big - -i had to reflash to an 80 meg partition to install correctly with all my other software -- be sure to go into the nand util on the intall and click on the 64 meg limitation removal or your reflash wont boot
That is interesting!

Where did you get the Thunderbird from? /feed or /feed2 ?
And are you using RC3?

Thanks

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / OpenZaurus 3.5.1 released !!!

Hmmm, I had forgotten about NAND's

Trouble is now in my hacking I have made other probably detrimental changes to the ROM. I'd prefer to work on feeding the changes back into OE and have those guys do updated packages. Trouble is I only work on this in spare 5 mins here and there while I do my real job :-)
But I like quick and dirty fixes   It may be weeks before we get a new build.
But never mind

I am just thinking aloud here to help others, here is what I changed the /etc/X11/Xinit.d/11zaurus file to to get orientation working the right way round for the C860

Code: [Select]
#!/bin/sh

if [ -z "`which chkhinge`" ]; then
   # probably not a zaurus
   exit 0
fi

chkhinge -e
if [ $? = 12 ]; then
   xrandr -o right
fi
Great work XorA

Have you got a Nand image for the C860 that us "less evolved" users can install

Software / KDE-Pim/Pi 1.9.6 Release
« on: September 25, 2004, 05:43:10 pm »
I am new to Linux, Zaurus and this suite

I have been testing the Organiser, Address book and recently the email and so far, they seem to be working well for me.

I have only had two problems so far.

1. I beamed my address book from a palm to the C860 and then imported it into KAPI, it wooked good but when I tried to run KAPI the next time, it crashed with ne error message on the GUI.
It turned out that I had some malformed EMAIL entries in the VCF file that stretched over four lines like...

Email No email
Email address was
Email Located **
Email *** e(((ed **

And this was crashing KAPI

Marke some better junk trapping is needed

2. SSH Library not found in the email program

Other than that, all is good for me.

Is the suite file compatible with the Windows exe versions? and when is there going to be a Windoze version of the email program?

I am looking forward to being able to use the same software on both platforms Windoze and Zaurus

Keep up the good workm its great!

..Clive
