Software / Running a SWEET Nintendo emulator for CX00

Just a note if anyone else's trying to get a NES emulator working with OZ 3.5.1 on a SL-5500- when I tried I think it complained that libSDL didn't have some String symbol. I tried zfceu though, as mentioned by zaurusbs here, and after installing zfceu and the libSDL in that package (not sure if that was needed or not, didn't try it with just the SDL from the OZ feed, but the two seem to coincide fine) and running makecompat on it it worked great, although zfceu_gui complains. Haven't tried the sound yet, I've stuck to the flags mentioned in the readme in that package.

Good luck all you Zaurusers, and a great thanks to all who've contributed information and work to the community!
Are you runnign OPIE? Whe I try to install just Zfceu, it says I need zlib1g and libopie1, but when I try to install libopie1, it says that it depends on qt-embedded, which I can't seem to find anywhere. Any thoughts?

Software / Nintendo Emulation on 3.5.1

Has anyone been able to get a Nintendo Emulator loaded with OZ 3.5.1? I've run into a bunch of dependency issues that is keeping me from getting the software loaded with the new OS. I've been trying to install Znester with libsdl, and the Zemufe frontend, and it has not been going in very nice.

Just for clarification, I have OZ 3.5.1 on an SL-5500.

I upload the following files:
opie-mediaplayer2_1.1.6-r0_arm.ipk
opie-mediaplayer2-skin-techno_1.1.6-cvs-20040915-r0_arm.ipk
opie-mediaplayer2-skin-pod_1.1.6-cvs-20040915-r0_arm.ipk
opie-mediaplayer2-skin-default_1.1.6-cvs-20040915-r0_arm.ipk
opie-mediaplayer2-skin-default-landscape_1.1.6-cvs-20040915-r0_arm.ipk

I go into apkg manager, and select all of the packages and go into options and select "Force Depends."

The packages install but no shortcut is placed on the desktop. Do I need to do that manually?
The output of the install is:
Dealing with package /root/Documents/application/ipkg/opie-mediaplayer2_1.1.6-r0_arm.ipk
Warning: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for opie-mediaplayer2:

Symbolic linking succeeded.

I can see all the packages under "installed packages" but I can't seem to get any of them to run.

Thanks for your help. I'm not sure why I'm having such a hard time installing applications

Was there a specific place that you got the feed from? I tried to install opie-player 2 with force depends, and it did not go so well for me.

I've tried various configurations, but no luck getting either xmms or opie-player2 loaded. I tried to load the libsdl library, but it says I don't have qpe. I try and install xmms and it says I don't have libsdl. I try and install opie-player, and it says I don't have opie-minimal. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should be trying next?

Thanks

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / intellisynch and OZ 3.5.1

I experienced the same problem, too. My timezone was set to Berlin (GMT+1) for germany. After syncing my 5500 with Outlook via Intellisync, appointments set for 14:00 in Outlook showed up for 12:00 on my Z. Difference of 2 hours in my case may be due to GMT+1 and additionally daylight savings time (+2 all in all).

Read my earlier post here: https://www.oesf.org/forums/inde...86&hl=timeshift

Do you have this fixed now? If you don't there is a patch available at http://openzaurus.org/official/unstable/3.5.1/upgrades/

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / intellisynch and OZ 3.5.1

Ok, Here is how I got intellisync to work in Windows 2000 (for anyone who may be having problems)

1.) Install intellisync 1.43 E.
2.) Set up network connections on PC and zaurus so that you can ping and ssh etc.
3.) Attempt to sync (keep hitting allow) and eventually it will say wrong version.
4.) Execute "mkdir /home/root/systeminfo && echo "1.13" >/home/root/systeminfo/linkver" -- this corrects the intellisync version problem
5.) Execute "ln -s /root /home/root" -- this corrects the problem with it syncing to the wrong directory.
6.) Run intellisync again, and keep clicking allow until it completes

The zaurus and your PC should now be in sync.

Now if I can just figure out how to fix the mapping of dates between my Outlook Calendar and the Zaurus. For instance, my appointment is showing at 5:30 PM in outlook, but it is registering as 11:30PM on the zaurus. Anyone else experience this anomaly?

If anyone can figure out how you can intellisync with SL5500, oz 3.5.1, I would be very appreciative. I'm interested in what version of intellisync to use, and how to set up the zaurus to accept the connection. I finally got oz 3.2 to sync correctly using intellisync 1.43, but I have had zero luck with syncronization either intellisync versions with 3.5.1. Any suggestions would help greatly.

Thanks,
Intellisync 1.43 works with OZ-OPIE 3.5.1 on a 5500.
Known glitches are: Sync Connection Alert and Syncing to wrong dir on Z (causes addressbook & todo & datebook to stay empty after sync).

Please post errors to the forum and/or ask more detailed questions.
I got it to run through the sync without any problems, but I think that I may not be doing the symlink correctly since after it syncs, my contacts and such do not update.
Is the correct syntax ln -s /root/ /home/root/ or is it ln -s /home/root/ /root/?

Or is this totally incorrect.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction as to what intellisync version to use. I really appreciate it.

Has anyone experienced audio issues running znester on sl-5500 runniing OZ 3.2? When I was running znester on sharpRom, the audio sounded perfect, but when I switched to OZ 3.2, the audio sounds like it is either running too fast, or is at the wrong frequency. I love OZ, but I also love the emulator.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

When I was running sharpRom, the znester emulator sounded great, but since switching to Openzaurus, the sound is way off. Is there some way of fixing this, perhaps by modifying the frequency?

Thanks,
