FWIW, do NOT get a Sandisk Connect (the "plain" WLAN card, not the one with 128MB memory added).  I've had two fail within the first year, and then the one that replaced one of them fail a year after that.  I am considering a Connect+ (the one WITH the flash memory), since it's supported out of the box, but I'm a bit hesitant.  How has everyone's experience been with these?

The connect+ works like a charm over here

My Belkin 802.11b CF card works well in my SL-5500

General Discussion / how to send control charactersin terminal

ctrl-c works as usual, you just need to know how to generat a ctrl-c. I have a Sharp SL-5500 so YMMV.

Depending whether I have the Sharp ROM or the OZ 3.5.1 ROM I have to use Fn-C or Shift-C to generate a ctrl-C

Zaurus - pdaXrom / pdaXrom and gentoo for Z on 5500?
« on: October 24, 2004, 05:56:47 pm »
Well the title says it all really.  The pdaXrom site says "pdaXrom has been tested on Sharp Zaurus SL-C700/750/760/860 but is currently being ported to other architectures."

The G4Z page says G4Z is based on pdaXrom.

So will g4z work on an sl5500?

For that matter where do I download g4z? the links on its page seem to point to zaurus.spy.org, which seems to have been down for a while.

General Discussion / Cannot communicate with Win98
« on: October 06, 2004, 11:31:48 pm »
I bought the thing second hand and it has sharp rom 2.38. I am using software on a cd that came with it. I cannot see in the windows software, or the Z where to change the communication method.

I am beginning to suspect dodgy USB ports on this cursed pcchips crap motherboard.

Sharp ROMs / NAND bounty for pxa255

after reading this I became interested in looking at the service menu (ok I am a fiddler who cannot help it).

On my sl-5500 i pressed "d" and "m" and hit the reset. It simply did a reset, no service menu.

should this work on a sl-5500?
