For Sale / Wanted / For Sale: Sl-6000l In Like New Condition
« on: June 27, 2008, 03:51:56 pm »
Hi All,
If anyone is interested in an SL-6000L I'm offering one on eBay.  It hasn't been used in a very long time, even when I did use it, it was only sparingly.  Consquently it is still in excellent condition, even the screen cover still has it's original plastic protective film.  You can view the listing at:

Thanks.

Steve

If anyone's looking for an SL-5500 that is in very good condition and comes with 3 batteries, 2 of which are practically new (1 unused, 1 used a couple times), I've got one up for sale on eBay right now.  The auction ends on Wednesday.  You can view it at:

SL-5500

I've also got additional pictures of the Zaurus and accessories available.  Please view the auction listing for the URL.

Thanks.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / What Are Task-* Packages For?
« on: January 24, 2006, 03:01:50 pm »
Does anyone know what the task-* packages are used for?  I wanted to remove openswan but package manager complains that task-bootstrap depends on it.  I don't want to break anything so I didn't remove openswan.  But it seems pretty strange that it can be removed so easily.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Oz 3.5.4-rc With Dcf-660w
« on: November 06, 2005, 11:53:54 pm »
ebob9, sorry I can't help but I have the same card and an SL-5500 and can confirm that it does work with 3.5.4RC.  I've got an SMC router and am using 128bit WEP.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Oz 3.5.4 Release Date?

Hi Mickeyl, would you please add a 64-0 kernel for collie to the 3.5.4RC download area?   Thanks!

I notice this also with Opera 7.55, didn't happen with OZ 3.5.2.  Another similar problem is that some buttons in dialog boxes need to be clicked twice for them to work.

OpenZaurus/Opie/Qtopia / Opie And The Bottom Row Of Pixels On The Screen
« on: February 17, 2005, 05:00:23 pm »
I haven't seen it mentioned before but it seems that Opie fails to use the bottommost row of pixels on an SL-5500's screen.  Mine always displays the line in a white color which is not the color I have set for the task bar at the bottom of the screen.  Sometimes, that row has some pixels in a different color, as if Opie did not repaint the line when an application terminated.  Anyone else noticed this?

OpenZaurus/Opie/Qtopia / Quicklauncher Never Terminates
« on: February 03, 2005, 11:05:16 pm »
I'm pretty sure I saw what I saw but now I'm not so sure.  After rebooting my Z, I tried to reproduce this with no success.  The only strange thing I notice is that the System Information app from the Settings tab displays the name quicklauncher for programs like addressbook or datebook while the ps command displays addressbook and datebook.  In other words, if you start the Contacts application, two tasks are started.  As identified by ps they are quicklauncher and addressbook, as identified by the System Information app they are both listed as quicklauncher.

OpenZaurus/Opie/Qtopia / Quicklauncher Never Terminates
« on: January 27, 2005, 04:23:35 pm »
Hi All, I'm running OZ 3.5.2 and noticed that any time an Opie app starts it also launches a program called quicklauncher.  So I look in the process list and see a ton of quicklauncher processes but no Opie apps are running.  Starting a new Opie app and then exiting it, I find that the app is removed from the process list but quicklauncher remains.  This looks to be a bug.  Does anyone know if this is a known issue?  Thanks.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / How-to: Opera 6 On 3.5.2 (hentges)
« on: December 30, 2004, 02:02:03 am »
javamatte, great howto, thanks!  This worked perfectly for me. Just have one small problem, Opera doesn't respond to any of its shortcut keys.  For example, "G" does not bring up the window to type in a URL.  Don't know why, but I can live with it, got any idea why it doesn't work?  Thanks again.

6000 - Tosa / How To Restore 6000 To Original State?
« on: December 03, 2004, 11:47:08 pm »
Hi All,

I just got an SL-6000L and was looking for Sharp's ROM images and kernel source and found they don't seem to be available on Sharp's web site.  Nor do they seem to be available through ZUG downloads.  Has anyone archived and made them available on a public web/ftp site or know where I can get them?  Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
