I had the same problem. Ran this and it went away

Code: [Select]
makecompat /opt/QtPalmtop/bin/opera
Actually, I just tried to run opera, and got the errror message again.
I re-ran the above command and that fixed it, although makecompat said opera
was not linked to the compat lib. Odd.

Why don't you just install from the command line? ipkg install -d {ram|sd|cf} <package> isin't hard.

Yes, I'm getting that same error on my collie. I'll get that kernel compile going soon, but now.. off to work.

Ack! Theres the bug you were talking about. Not accepting device ID with error -71. I suppose I need to get OE running so I can build the modules and see if it happens there. Anyone know where to download the toolchain, btw, the link from the OE wiki is dead.

I haven't patched the kernel, haven't had time to install OE yet, thats on my list for today. I'm using the binaries from http://sgp.zaurii.net/binaries/. I just extracted the data.tar.gz and pulled the modules from it. I haven't noticed much oddness, I had one hiccup with insert/remove but I didn't go back to net in between. I'm guessing it was the windows xp machine I'm testing on. It has a know odd USB chipset.

Thats a unix timestamp, or seconds from standard epoch of 1/1/1970. You can verify that here...

Hey all. I almost have an ipkg for usb-storage on OZ. I've tested the module and it works on 3.5.1, it comes with a script called usbcontrol that lets you switch from net to usb, and get the current status. It should also save state over reboots. opie-sh front end too. I'll upload as soon as I get home from work.

Yes, formating any sd or cf card to ext2 will allow you to link to it. You can also split the card and have a fat and ext2 partition. This is useful if you want to use usb-storage and have a windows machine read the SD card, or use the sd card in a camera as well.

Oh. Yeah, for got that one.

Xmms loads, sees mp3s, but does nothing when I press the play button. No errors on the console.  Madness, no?

It's probably important to note that I haven't used opie-packagemanager, I switched it to aqpkg from the command line first thing

This is freaking me out now. I spent an hour last night trying to get opie-mediaplayer{1,2} to work.

opie-mediaplayer1 segfauls as soon as it opens. I'm getting QImage errors on the console. The opie-mediaplyer2-skin packages are installed

opie-mediaplayer2 segfaults whenever I try to play a song or view the skin. Same QImage errors.

mp3blaster comes up and says cannot use terminal vt100

I don't think my zaurus wants me to listen to music.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / A positive post about 3.5.1
« on: October 26, 2004, 05:06:06 pm »
I may not be the most objective source, since I've been using *NIX as my primary os for a long time, but I haven't had alot of problems with 3.5.1 yet. I did steer clear of opie-packagemanager.  I did the following, found on this board I believe...

Code: [Select]
ipkg remove opie-packagemanager
ipkg install opie-aqpkg

Networking worked great after install, and hostap finally has monitoring extensions. YAY! It didn't lock up after multiple cf insert/removes like 3.2 had done to me. It looks nice, I like the theme. That won't last, of course, but it is a first. All in all, for a first flash of an OZ release, this has gone rather smooth.

Windrose, it is gratifying to see your intrest in documenting OZ. Since you seem so vocal about the problem, I'm sure you would have no problem in organizing this project, correct?
