6000 - Tosa / Video playback on the 6000

I did not find o.conf
typo. corrected.

However, it seems an unnecessary step, so I remove it. In fact, when I watch a 320x240 movie, I prefer to enlarge to a 480x360 movie on the 480x640 screen, not a 640x480 movie on the 640x480 screen/landscape mode.

My procedure:
  • Install Kino2 v3.0
  • Install mplayer w100
  • Delete /usr/local/bin/mplayer
  • link /home/QtPalmtop/bin/mplayer to /usr/local/bin/mplayer
  • link /home/QtPalmtop/etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf to /home/zaurus/.mplayer/mplayer.conf
  • link /home/QtPalmtop/etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf to /usr/local/etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf
  • Edit /home/QtPalmtop/etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf, and add "vop=rotate=1"
  • Edit /home/QtPalmtop/apps/Multimedia/kino2.desktop, and delete "Display=640x480,144dpi,480x640,144dpi"
  • Click and hold on Kino2 icon, enable "Display with magnified screen" and disable "Execute with root privilege"
    In Kino2:[/li]
  • File/Preferences/Core, enable "Direct Access to Frame Buffer"
  • File/Preferences/Video, enable "Enable Doublebuffering"
  • File/Preferences/Audio, enable "ffmpeg"
  • Enable "View/Fullscreen"
  • Keep other options in unable
Now I can play a 320x240 movie in 640x480/landscape mode.

6000 - Tosa / Keyboards?

I guess I find the answer?
    My previous procedure:[/li]
  • Turn off beam receive (ie. set to manual).
  • Select IRK as the input method
  • Configure IRK via it's settings panel
  • Turn on IRK from it's control panel
And I get "Couldn't open IrDA serial Port. Either something else is using the...."
    My current procedure:[/li]
  • Turn off beam receive (ie. set to manual).
  • Select IRK as the input method
  • Configure IRK via it's settings panel
  • Turn off IRK from it's control panel
  • Turn on IRK from it's control panel
Once I turn it off at first, then everything goes fine.

I just create mplayer.conf in /usr/local/etc/mplayer/

adding:
vop=rotate=1

and it works.

6000 - Tosa / Keyboards?

Do you choose "Startup IRK On"?

I think my problem isn't about the keyboard, because I don't connect SL-6000L to the keyboard or even extend/open that keyboard.

I only install the driver, set it to SL5600/SLC7xx, and click "On" (not Startup IRK ON), then I get the error message "Couldn't open IrDA serial Port. Either something else is using the...."

The only way to make the driver work is "Startup IRK On" and reboot. Is this the correct way I should do?

Thanks for your reply, but it doesn't work. Please review my steps:
  • Turn off beam receive (ie. set to manual).
  • Select IRK as the input method
  • Configure IRK via it's settings panel
  • Turn on IRK from it's control panel
You can see that I even didn't open my Targus keyboard at this moment. All I did were installed the driver and clicked "on." I've tried to format the 6000L and install the driver only, but I still got the same problem, "Couldn't open IrDA serial Port. Either something else is using the...." (I use SHARP ROM v1.12)

Hi,

Just receive my 6000L, but some problems come in then. I've installed the keyboard driver from http://ifound.com/anon/

I follow these steps:
  • Turn off beam receive (ie. set to manual).
  • Select IRK as the input method
  • Configure IRK via it's settings panel
  • Turn on IRK from it's control panel
At this point, I get an error message, "Couldn't open IrDA serial Port. Either something else is using the...."

I choose SL5000/SL5500 and SL5600/SLC7xx, and I also try v0.10 and 0.11, but both of don't work. Do I miss some steps?
