Hey All,

I run the Sharp 3.10 ROM and I used to use the Sharp Media Player for playing MP3s.  However, I just switched to the tkcPlayer as it has much more functionality, but the Z wants to suspend after 30 minutes of playing with this player.  The Sharp player seems to disable this suspending while it is running.  Unfortunately, I cannot set the Z to suspend at any point longer than 30 minutes.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

5x00 Hardware / Overclock/underclock 5500?

Hey All,

I was wondering if there are any applications available for under/overclocking the SL5500?  I have noticed some apps available for the newer models, but nothing for the 5500.  Any suggestions?  I'm hoping to underclock a bit to improve battery life when needed.

Great!  Thank you for the information!  I checked out zLAMIP, but I need a GUI where I can select songs.  Otherwise, it's a great player.  Howver, I've got everything setup how I want it now.

I'm curious if there is a console command in Sharp 3.10 to turn off the LCD so I do not have to do it in the GUI everytime (I want to use it in a script)...?

Sharp ROMs / Make Xmms Launch With Parameters

Hey All,

I am attempting to setup XMMS with Sharp 3.10 so that when I launch the icon, it launches with a few command line parameters (-p -e /mnt/card/Music/*.*)... however, when I edit /opt/QtPalmtop/apps/Applications/xmms.desktop, I change the "Exec=" line to be:

Exec=xmms -p -e /mnt/card/Music/*.*

(tried with quotes too... doesn't work!)

... and then after restarting Qtopia and hitting the icon, it won't launch XMMS.  If I do this command from the console, it works as needed.

Are there any suggestions as to how I can get this functioning?

My end goal is to bind this command to a button on the Z to launch XMMS, enqueue my sons and play them with one keypress.

BTW, I have a 5500 running 3.10.

Hey All,

I just moved back to OpenZaurus and I am having problems finding information on how to setup USB connectivity with OZ and my WinXP computer.  I need to be able to at least transfer files to the Z and would like to get Internet access to it.  Are there instructions on doing this somewhere?  I cannot get it working myself...

Hey All-

While I don't think this is possible, I figure it doesn't hurt to ask as I cannot find a definite answer on the boards.  I have always used a CF card to flash OZ to my 5500, however, I no longer have access to one at the moment and I was wondering if it was possible to flash from an SD card?

Software / Tkcplayer Crashes With Tkc Rom

There's some stuff going on in theKompany's embedded product mailing list concerning the crash bug, apparantly they are working on fixing it (not for ARM yet, but I guess soon). Might want to go to the site and see if you can join to ask your question. I haven't had a problem but I haven't used tkcPlayer much honestly, yet.

Software / Tkcplayer Crashes With Tkc Rom

Hey All-

I use tkcPlayer with the tkc Rom to play my music off of an SD card, and everytime I use the player it will crash on me after about 10 minutes or so.  This _appears_ to be a result of the screensaver coming on, but I cannot turn it off and I'm not sure what to do.  With it crashing, it's hardly usable for MP3's.  Any suggestions?
