But, it's an upgraded brain. I'd sure like one that had could do more, or at least the capabilities to use my current brain to the maximum potential. Wouldn't you?

For Sale / Wanted / Fs: Sl-5500
« on: June 05, 2009, 12:08:09 am »
As the title states, I've got an SL-5500 for sale. OZ 3.5.4 w/ Opie 1.2, few applications installed. Most notable and used are;

kismet
wellenreiter
aircrack-ng + wesside/easside-ng => with patched hostap drivers for injection. fragmentation attacks won't work just yet however.
dropbear-ssh

altboot and loopback, booting off a 1GB SD.

Comes with stylus, battery, sync cradle, power adapter and screen cover. It's in 9/10 shape, no scratches or dings.

I just upgraded to an SL-C1000, so this is of little to no use to me. $80? If no takers, it'll get hard mounted in my Jeep and use for off-road navi.

Email is fastest, simon@series60.ca

First off I would like to say that this is a nice forum with a lot of useful information.  I am looking to become a member of the Zaurus community but first I need a Zaurus.  I am hoping someone might have an old one that doesn't get much use anymore laying around their house.  If that someone is you let me know what you have and how much you are asking.  Not looking for anything too new or too expensive, trying to stay with something cheap before i spend a lot of money and dive in head first.  Shoot me a PM.  Thanks.

Still looking for one? I've got an SL-5500 with battery, screen cover, cradle, charger, stylus.

Flashed with OZ 3.5.4, a boat load of security tools installed (kismet, wellenreiter, the aircrack-ng suite (current SVN) - including patched hostap drivers for packet injection. Add a prism2.5 card and you're done off to the races.

PM or email me; simon@series60.ca

Is there a reason why you only want this working on Angstrom and not looking at any other options?

If the full kernel source is available, I don't see why this isn't working right now. When my C1000 arrives, I'll look into this for you.

SL-5500 Battery in excellent working order.
SL-5500 Battery Extender.
One LCD protector + one in use.
One Netgear MA701 802.11b CF card.

Accessories / Which Cf Wifi Should I Buy?
« on: December 02, 2004, 04:06:36 pm »
I recently purchased a Netgear MA701 off eBay. Took the standard 9 days to get here as it usually does (Came from Ohio and customs don't help). I got mine for 40$ CAD with S&H and Insurance. It seems to be a good card and being that I can't find an actual store in Ontario that sells them in-store, I also couldn't find anywhere that had them for less than 80$ - it was a pretty good deal. I never did like D-Link products. MA701 works fine with the HostAP drivers in OZ3.5.1.
Netgear MA701 specs:
Quote
Power:
Automatic built-in power management to reduce battery usage
Transmission = < 350 mA
Reception = < 250 mA
Power Save mode = 80mA
and D-Link DCF-660W specs:
Quote
Transmission = < 350ma
Reception = < 250ma
Power Save mode = 80mA
They seem pretty much the same. The D-Link has a Tx of about ~16dBm. No clue on the Netgear. My only "gripe" with the Netgear card is that the Link light is stays flashing when it's plugged in. I'm sure there's an ioctl to turn it off though.

General Discussion / What's Next After Kismet?
« on: December 02, 2004, 03:57:25 pm »
Well, assuming you have explicit authorization to use the AP's you would add the SSID, optional WEP/WPA key, DHCP or static IP address and then associate with the Access Point.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Help me get started cross-compiling for OZ

Try installing the compatibility libraries (oz-compat) and relinking the binary against them (runcompat or makecompat). This has helped me many a time in compiler library version differences.

5x00 Hardware / Custom battery pack
« on: November 23, 2004, 08:56:03 am »
Ah, thanks. So I guess my Duracell NiMH 1.2V/1800mAh will work fine. Thanks. How much extra time do you pull from yours ? I would imagine adding 7200mAh would beef it right up a few hours ?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Security/authentication
« on: November 22, 2004, 11:47:17 pm »
What/Where are authentication plugins for the Security tab ? After checking to Lock Opie on resume, I had to pull a hard reset and manually edit the Security.conf file to set that to 0, it just went from the Authenticate button, to the Authentication Failed screen and wouldn't let me do anything. Can I set a graphical login screen for Opie and what use is this tab if there are no plugins available for it ?

Thanks.

5x00 Hardware / Custom battery pack
« on: November 22, 2004, 09:45:07 pm »
Bah. No other battery threads are alive, so...these "Battery Extenders" don't screw up Sharp's Li-Ion charging mechanism in the actual battery ? I've seen them selling on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5733164071&rd=1) and being the uber-suck and soldering, I was wondering if they are safe to use.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Please Help
« on: November 20, 2004, 12:08:02 am »
Hm. I get this on my newly flashed 5500 too. Mine seems to be randomly freezing now. Nothing short of flipping the battery switch will remedy it (which I hate doing). I might just have to switch back to a Sharp ROM
