5x00 Hardware / Wifi Card Compatibility?

The 1180 is based on a Broadcom chipset and the only way to get it to work on linux is using the Linuxant Driverloader

My advice would be to find a different card, I currently use an [url=http://www.ambicom.com/]Ambicom WL1100C-CF with my 5500 and it works great since it\'s based on the Intersil Prism 2.5 chipset, I picked it up at a local Best Buy for $35 after rebate.

5x00 Hardware / Sony PEGA-WL-100 WLAN card in 5500?

Well I just removed the Ambicom WL1100C-CF currently in my Z, worked out of the box with rom v2.38, and plugged in the PEGAWL100 I have for my NX70 and got no response from the Z and no light on the card. Seems it may just be a driver issue according to info on this page since it is really an Intel 2011B card.
