Hey All,

I am selling my less than a year old Zaurus SL-C1000 and accessories on EBay.  You can click on the link to check out the pictures and total description, but this is the basic run down:

I had a Zaurus SL-5500 for about a year and loved it so much that I sold it and upgraded to a then new c1000.  I would be keeping it, but as it says in the ebay description my desktop (only computer) is quite old and starting to die on me, so unfortunately this beauty must go.  If you think you could provide a good home to her please check out the link.  The auction comes with everything you need to get up and running with the C1000.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxrom 1.1.0beta 4 And New Bootloader

I seem to be getting stuck on the emergency boot stage,  all I get is the below without the automatic rebooting, etc.

I've tried with SD & CF cards.   One weird thing is my cards arent readable. They are mounted fine but when I do "ls" on them it just freezes?

I've formatted them correctly with FAT16 with windows & even the HP usb storage formatting tool.

I ran into the same problem.  I've used the same compact flash card even since I had my zaurus to do flashing.  I have never had any problems flashing roms with it, but for beta4, my compact flash card only worked for flashing the u-boot.  When I tried to flash the kernel with it the emergency boot would not recognize it, even when trying to mount it manually.  What I had to do was use my multimedia card to flash the kernel since the emergency boot was able to detect that automatically.  This is weird since I have never been able to do any successful flashing with my multimedia card before.

be patience my friends - we migrating to kernel 2.6 now  and this is not joke!

This is great news!  Does this mean that pdaXrom will be using some of the same patches that OZ uses for their 2.6 kernels?  And if so, does this mean that there will be a common set of patches maintained by both teams?

Qt/Qtopia / Anyone Use Suse 10.0 For Z Dev?...

Personally I have had no problems doing development for the Z under SuSE 10.0 .  I have been able to cross compile kernels and applications quick and easy using the How-To guides on the user group website.  The only thing I have not tried doing is cross compiling Qtopia apps, everything that I have compiled has been console based.  But I would recommend giving SuSE a go, it does a lot of other things well besides Z dev too.

C1000/3x00 General discussions / Difficult Time Adding Mppe Support To The Kernel

I have recently upgraded my C1000's kerenel to Tetsu v18a.  I did this for the sole purpose of getting MPPE support because according to Tetsu's site MPPE was supported.  I need MPPE because at the university that I go to use the wireless internet you must connect through their VPN.  The protocol that my school uses is PPTP w/ MPPE.

I have successfully connected to my school's VPN from my desktop using PPTP.  So my plan was to get MPPE working for Tetsu then just compile the latest version of pptp-linux for my zaurus and be up and running.  According to what I could make out from Tetsu's site, after installing the kernel I need to install both the kernel-modules_v18a_arm.ipk and then the mppe-modules_arm.ipk.
I did those two things but I got an error when I installed the kernel-modules_v18a_arm.ipk.  This is what I got:

depmod: connot read ELF header from /lib/modules/2.4.20/modules.pnpbiosmap
I also get this error everytime i try to do a depmod -a

I have tried to modprobe mppe after installing everything, but it cannot locate it.  It is also not listed under lsmod.  Does anyone know what is wrong with what I am doing?  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Finally got around to making a copy for you.  I had to tar it because it wouldn't let me upload it as it was.  Hope this helps.  I have the same problem with my SD (actually MMC) card.  I have to mount it manually for it to show.

the only thing what i dont like about the c3100 (now) is that there is no alternative rom yet...

If current ROM support is a big thing, you could always buy a C1000 and pickup a 4GB microdrive.  That way you have the ROMs that are out now (OZ, pdaXrom, and soon to be Cacko) and the space of the microdrive.  Plus, you might same some on batt. life if that is another thing you are worried about.  The only downside is that you would have to swap the microdrive in and out if you want to use anything else.

Thanks! I think i've settled on a C1000 from Conics. I just can't justify the extra price for a model with the microdrive.

I have decided to get rid of all my PDAs (both a Pocket Pc and a 5500 Zaurus) in order to upgrade to a clamshell Zaurus.  I figure I would post this sale just incase anyone was interested in a IPAQ to install Familiar Linux on or just to use as is.  With the proper setup, this device can run a version of linux very similar to OpenZaurus on this IPAQ.  You can then install and run either Opie or GPE and all of the apps associated with those environments.

I am selling my SL-5500 after a year to upgrade to one of the clamshell models.  This package is perfect for anyone who is looking to get started out with the Zaurus or anyone who is looking for a 5500 with some extra power.  The Zaurus is up on ebay and it comes with the following:
