For Sale / Wanted / For Sale: Sl-c3000 + Ambicom Wifi Cf
« on: May 01, 2005, 08:00:28 pm »
Hi-

Before I run off to eBay, I'll offer this for sale here for a week. I have a Sharp Zaurus, SL-C3000, with all of the original packaging, Manuals, USB cable, CD's etc. Two 110V travel adapters are included. In addition, it comes with the AmbiCom 802.11b WiFi CF card (model WL1100C-CF) verified to work with the Zaurus. The OS is stock on the unit (English converted). I've added a debian image in a sparse image file, and I can either leave that as is or remove it as you like.

The Zaurus was purchased through Conics about 6 months ago. The project I wanted it for has been cancelled -- so it must go. I'm going to post it on eBay in a week, but since I've found these forums to be so useful, I would like to only offer it for sale here for now. Everything works perfectly. The only flaw I can find is that one of the tiny rubber feet on the bottom of the Zaurus is missing -- it seems to me this could easily be fixed if it matters to you...

I will ship it insured anywhere in the US -- I have no experience with non-US shipping, but am open to suggestions. I can hand deliver in the San Francisco Bay Area.

US $700 for everything (Zaurus + WiFi card),  shipping included. I will accept cash or PayPal.

Inquiries to david@zachary.com -- thanks!

Just adding my experiences. I'm using an SL-C3000 and so far so good. I noted wildly huge and unusable font problems with the 0.0.10 server, but curiously enough version 1.9.0 works great.

Does the SL-C3000 standard ROM follow the same symlink structure? It seems like with the HD and RAM for dynamic use only, it could look more like a "traditional" desktop Linux installation...

With respect to backlit keyboards, has anyone tried these (glow-in-the-dark keyboard stickers)?
