6000 - Tosa / Kde Apps Working On The 6000 Series?
« on: February 01, 2006, 04:00:06 pm »
I read that Ko/Pi works on the SL-6000W. How about the other apps? Can anyone tell me whether the apps from the KDE-stable will work or not?

I'm planning to exchange my SL-C700 for a SL-C3100 or a SL-6000W, preferably the latter, but I would like to know if my apps will still work. Does anyone know?

Hi All,

I'm about to replace my SL-C700 (which has served me well) for another device. Would the SL-6000L by the right alternative? I know it's a different design, but I'm looking for a device that has WiFI & Bluetooth, that can handle the Cacko ROM and the KDE-apps I'm currently using.

Does anyone know if Sharp is going to produce a PDA which has the new Intel 624 MHz CPU? HP and Dell are.

Hi Zautrix,

thanx for your reply.

unfortunately, Ko/Pi doesn't give me the chance to disable fastload, simply by popping up immedatly after I close it! It simply doent't allow me to do anything at all on my C700.

grtz

Hi,

I submitted next problem on SourceForce.net, but get no reply:

I installed the complete version 1.9.10  Ko/Pi, Ka/Pi, & Passwd-package on my C700, with the latest Cacko Rom. When it reboots Ko/Pi start immediately never to be able to stop again.
If I want to add a new appointment, the appointment-window opens, and within a second closes again, returning to weekview, and, after another second or two, the edit window opens again, after another second , again, returning to weekview, and so on, without me touching anything. If I get to press the "x" button in time, the popping stops. Samething with other functions like help.  If I want to close Ko/Pi, the "Do you really want to ..." confirmation box appears, to disappear within a second and re-appear again etcetera. When I get to click the "Close" button in time, the application stops, only to start up again immediately. The app seems te use so much system resources, it is almost impossible to start another application. And if I fet to start another program, Ko/Pi keeps jumping in the foreground making it impossible to use any other application. All and all, y C700 is useles this way.

If no-one knows hot to tackle this problem, is there anyone who can tell my how to boot in prompt-mode and uninstall Ko/Pi? This way I can return to 1.9.6, which worked fine. Sometimes a bit slow, but I could live with that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Rob

I installed KoPi on my C700 and got a reply "This package seems to depend on other packages- please install them too." KoPi won't start. When I tap the button I get an exploding Icon like KoPi is starting, but nothing happens. Same problem with KaPi. I'm using the latest Version of Cacko's ROM. What am I doing wrong here?
In the first posting, you will find:

You need the kmicrokdelibs_1.9.4_arm.ipk as a base for the other programs.

Did you install it?

z.
Hi Zautrix

yes I tried to install it first, but I get the response "IPKG says something went wrong" or something like that, and then closes

Sharp ROMs / What would you like to see in Cacko 1.22 ROM?

Would it be possible to include the latest 2.6 version kernel in the new ROM?

Looks like a "Lite" version (which I second) of the ROM is what people would like to have. I'll open a poll to see how many would want that. But they will have to sacrifice internal flash space because, like I said, jffs2 compression is worse than cramfs/squashfs
I don't quite understand... a "lite"version would save space wouldn't it?
If Ko/Pi would be included in ROM, would it run faster? What if ther would be an update of Ko/Pi?

Sorry Bas,

Volgende keer beter.

grtz.

Cxx0 General discussions / C700 Out of memory problem
« on: July 30, 2004, 10:56:40 am »
You could use some of the storage-space on your CF-card to create a swap-file. This increases your available memory.
I replaced the Sharp ROM with the one Sash develloped, and it certainly made my C700 faster. This ROM also comes with an overclocking-utility, wich works fine, and most defenitly boosts the speed (use at your own risk).

Hi Harlequin

I\'m using my C700 (latest Cacko-ROM) together with my SonyEricsson, and I\'m not having trouble at all connecting them both using Irda! Transmitting appointments from KO/PI to my mobile and JAVA-applits  or pictures work fine on the C700 \"as is\". I don\'t see the problem
