problem is still there even after uninstalling all the applications.
how to start addressbook from terminal

i am unable to check net daily these days, so will be late in replies

Thanks, i will try it tonight.
BUT Now one more problem,
yesterday i installed KA/Pi KO/Pi ver 2.0.6 into my system.
Now the problem is that my zaurus addressbook dows not open. It just tries to open and then nothing happens.

All my Data is Dead    
tried to import in Kapi but only fractions came, complete addresses are not at all visible

my system has the Terminal application.
after i punch the code'
    cd /home/QtPalmtop/i18n/ja
it gives no error message as if it excepts the command
then i give code'
    rm addressbook.qm
i recieve message file not found.....................

Now what to do?
i managed screen shot as you asked

dear stu
i seem to be too ignorant to linux etc etc. Now what is console and how to rach it.
i could not even take the screen shot(read somewhere that CMD+C doesit, but what the hell is CMD?)

Secondly i have read reviews of KA/Pi whcih seems very good, should i install all the files available in package to amke it work???

i have lots of questions ,pls be patiient to answer

i converted my system by the convert.sh file available at wbcd.org.

my question may be very basic but how to reach the home folder in zaurus.
i cant locate the file u said to delete

Dear Friends,

even after converting zaurus into English, part of the address Book is still in Japanese. Apart from this the sorting list is not alphabaticaly.

Is there any solution to this problem. I have tried many other addressbook applications but none of them work on my zaurus.

Early reply will be appriciated.

As far as I'm aware the audio out port, can act either as a stereo audio out or as a mono audio out and microphone in.

i searched the internet about the hardware. it worked ,any microphone works when connected to audio port, though quality is not very good.

what hardware is required to record voice in zaurus. i could find only an audio out port in zaurus, no audio in.

Hey friends thanks to feedback on the forums, i have converted my zaurus into english and installed lot many softs.
BUT i am not able to run even a single video. i have tried the below method, except the sudo part .it does not work.

any ideas what to do?



5. KINO 2 MOVIE PLAYER, MPLAYER AND NEW VIDEO DRIVER

Install most recent version of Kino 2: kino2_0.4.2_arm.ipk
Also install mplayer-bvdd_1.0.1-1_arm.ipk - (New mplayer package)
Also install bvdd_0.1.0-1_arm.ipk - video driver for C3000
Also install sudo:

(Your Zaurus will reboot as soon as you finish installing the new video driver.

All the good people out there,
i have baught zaurus today from Tokyo, and just returned home.
I am eager to convert it to english, so need all the help available.
This i my first PDA and no Linux exp'''''

1. please tell how to convert it to english. i will like to use the english Japanese dictionary all the time, so whats the best way to convert.

2. i have got 2 CD with the zaurus, are they needed and what to do with them. i havent connected zaurus to PC as yet.
waiting for the replies so i can start on.

hi guys
since all of you seem so learnt, help me with my queries'
i ma very new to pDA world.i am not some linux professional like many of the guys who buy zaurus.
The reasons i wanna buy PDA are'
1. to manage my schedules and make instant notes.
2. access all pdf word and other windows files on PDA.
3. see movies (avi ripped files) and listen songs
4. www
i am very impressed with zaurus since it comes with 4GB hardisk and willlike to buy it very soon.
the problem is that  after going through forums it seems i have to be linux expert to get its fullest use.it may not play movies and net can also be difficult.
pls suggest still i should go for c3000(which i am dying to buy) or is there some better option for my needs.
