OpenZaurus/Opie/Qtopia / Adding A Category To The Documents Tab
« on: June 23, 2005, 08:16:40 pm »
Is it possible to add a new category to the Documents tab? If so, how?
I've tried adding directories in what seemed to be good locations, but it didn't work.

Does anyone know what the suspend command calls?
I found a libsuspend.so that could be it, but I'm not sure.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Wifi And Suspend
« on: April 19, 2005, 07:12:22 pm »
I have Opie 1.1.7 on OZ 3.5.2 on an SL-6000L.
When I suspend (or when it suspends on its own), the wifi connection becomes hosed.
I want to modify the script, or put an intermediate step in that calls "ifdown wlan0" in the suspend sequence. What script (or binary) does the suspend call?

The version of konqueror embedded that I have (from the official source) dates from 2003. Is there a more recent version available? Or a decent alternative browser for Opie?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Installing To Cf Versus Internal Flash

I have Opie 1.1.7 and OZ 3.5.2 on an SL-6000L.

Some applications seem to work when installed to CF, but others do not. Why is this? Is there something specific about the apps that requires the internal memory?

OpenZaurus/Opie/Qtopia / Questions About Developing An App For Opie
« on: March 14, 2005, 07:07:31 pm »
I'm a pretty skilled C++ developer, and I want to write some apps for my Zaurus 6000L under Opie.
What dev tools do I need to begin developing Opie apps on my PC (an Athlon Gentoo Linux box) to port to my zaurus?
I want them to be GUI apps, so I'm guessing I'll need Qt embedded libs, and possibly some others. And I already have gcc 3.3.4, make, etc.
Also is there a tutorial anywhere about using the Qt/E api? Or is it the same api as the regular Qt?

Thanks.

OpenZaurus/Opie/Qtopia / Adding Icons To The Opie Menu
« on: March 14, 2005, 03:36:35 pm »
I just put OE & Opie on my Zaurus 6000L this weekend and am very impressed so far. I already prefer it over the Java-heavy Sharp setup.

I do want to make a couple small changes to my setup though, and was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction.
I want to create two icons on the O menu called "Connect WiFi" and "Disconnect WiFi" that just call the /bin/wifi.sh script I wrote with "on" or "off" as arguments.
I would also like to alter the Suspend entry on the menu to call "/bin/wifi.sh off" as a preliminary step, since suspending with WiFi active munges the connection.

I'd guess that there's a menu config file somewhere that links an icon and name to a program that gets called, but I can't seem to find it.

Thanks.
