Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Installs Work And Then Fail

I am trying to install xmms-embedded in the hope it can play stream (wishful thinking ?)

It looks like it's all going well but at the end of the install, it's all going horribly wrong with plenty of error messages complaining about linking failure...

Is there a fix for that ?

I am installing to an SD card on an SL5500 if that helps...

Thanks for the suggestions. I removed some files from ram manually and then uninstalled some stuff using the package manager and then started reinstalling on the sd card.

Wish I had known about ktrove though....

RAM. No SD memory card and a wifi card in the CF slot....

Just after getting my CF wifi card, I started installing some stuff (xmms) and blissfully forgot I didn't have the SD card in the slot. Installation proceeded in RAM, which ran out rapidly.

Now I'd like to remove all that but the problem is that it doesn't appear in the list of installed packages....

Do I need to reflash ?

I just bought an ambicom wl1100c-cf and it worked right out of the box with OZ opie latest. It was easy to find in the UK.

haven't tried with icecast, but firefox+vlc on pdaxrom does shoutcast for me.
I think icecast would work just fine.

Software / Zaurus As An Audio Streamer

My zaurus recently zapped all my data and apps, rebooting in a clean environment. I've noticed at that occasion that I could very well do without a pda that can't reconcile with my work diary.;

Now I have loaded opie but I was thinking it'd be pretty cool to convert the machine to a wireless media streamer. It supposes a media pleayer able to stream from an icecast server and display new song titles with large characters and an easy figertip navigation.

Can anyone advise how to achieve this ? Or discourage me before I waste too much time ?

No luck yet. the md5s were wrong (just the initrd) and I can't manage to get a connection that doesn't drop after a while, before the end of the download.

Will try tomorrow.

Card is fine, Sharp logo comes up because the kernel (zImage) hasn't flashed correctly.

Probably because for the collie (5500/5000D) machines, it has to be called zImage (no .bin extension).

If renaming doesn't help it (and I reckon it will), chack the md5sums of the files too.

Same problem here. My previous ROM was thekompany's and it's still that Logo that comes up. there is no problem the files and I've named them correctly.... I'll try 3.5.2 just out of interest.

Any success yourself si ?
